ColourPop Super Shock Shadow Cheap Date Review

Hi ladies,

I had heard a lot about ColourPop eyeshadows and seen these cute bottles online a lot. I am a sucker for cute packaging and also affordable products, so I ordered a few shades from this particular brand. Today, I will be reviewing ColorPop Super Shock Shadow in “Cheap Date.”

My Take on ColourPop Super Shock Shadow Cheap Date:

This is a single shadow and comes in cute white circular box. The lid is transparent so it is easy to spot the color. The cap closes and opens like a screw. The packaging looks cute but is quite bulky. It is not travel friendly as we all need more shadows and less space so I will not mind moving the pot to my Z palette in case I am traveling with these pots.

If you can spot it in pictures, the pan is not firmly attached to the plastic box, there is extra space in between which makes it look clumsy. The actual shadow has textured surface which is typical of ColourPop shadows.

The texture of the shadow is “oh-my-gawd” so creamy and buttery. It is not at all powdery or rough. It glides smoothly on the skin withotu any fallout whatsoever. The best part is that it sticks to the skin firmly but I will not say primer is not needed. I am an ardent believer in primers and I will always always recommend that they be used beneath shadows.

This shadow stays good for 8 hours, definitely an “all-nighter.”
It is of buildable nature and intensity can be controlled by the person applying it. Maximum intensity can be seen using finger tips for application.

This is the creamiest golden I have ever used as an eye shadow, with very finely milled glitter in silver tones. Shimmers are so fine that it blends with the shade and does not look chunky at all. The website describes it as “a true gold with silver glitter.” The color is opaque in itself and covers well. It is a perfect shade for wedding golden look.

Pros of ColourPop Super Shock Shadow Cheap Date:

  • Creamy.
  • Perfect wedding golden color.
  • Texture is so soft, just like butter.
  • Long lasting, even without a primer.
  • No fall out.
  • Affordable price.

Cons of ColourPop Super Shock Shadow Cheap Date:
