I wanted to try ColourPop Super Shock shadows ever since they took the beauty industry by storm with their awesome quality. Today, I will be reviewing the shade “Mixed Tape,” which is grey shade. So, let’s see how this eyeshadow fared for me.
$5.00 USD for 0.07 oz.
Mid-tone cool grey in a pearlized finish – a shoutout to the best way to proclaim your love in the 90s. This long-wearing crème powder formula has an elastic-like texture that is totally party proof. Avoid the fallout from traditional powder shadows and say goodbye to raccoon eyes! This feather soft formula glides on and feels freakin’ amazing. Super Shock Shadows come in a ton of kick ass shades in multiple fabulous finishes.
How To Use:
For maximum coverage use the fingertip to tap shadow on the eyelid. A flat, fine tip synthetic brush is perfect for detailed application close to the lash line. Using a fluffy brush that has good movement, dip the tip of the brush into the shadow and apply with a “windshield wiper” movement throughout the crease of the eye. This will make your shadow appear soft and diffused like a total pro! When finished, close that sucker up tight! Don’t leave the jar opened for long periods of time, you may lose some of the magic that makes the Super Shock Shadow so amazing.
My Experience with ColourPop Mixed Tape Super Shock Shadow:
Packaging: The packaging comes in a white round pot with a transparent screw lid. The lid has a holographic writing on the top – ColourPop. The bottom of the pot specifies the name of the product “Mixed Tape.” The eyeshadow comes in a white cardboard box with the name of the product and the ingredients list.
Texture and Application: The texture of this eyeshadow is super creamy and buttery. It is a mix between a powder and a cream product. It is creamy to touch, but when you apply it on your eyes, it gives a satiny finish. The product has a scale-like pattern to it. Due to its texture, it is best applied with your fingers. Keep the jar tightly closed, so that the product doesn’t dry out. I didn’t have any fall out drying application of the shadow.
Pigmentation and Coverage: The eyeshadow is super pigmented. One swipe with your finger is all it takes to get full coverage. Since the texture is creamy, use a synthetic fluffy brush to blend the product. If you want to pack on the colour you can use a dense synthetic brush. To get more shine, spray the brush with MAC Fix Plus, but I personally feel that fingers give the best pigmentation and coverage.
Shade and Finish: “Mixed Tape” is described as a mid-tone cool grey shade in pearlized finish and it is indeed a beautiful greyish taupe shade. Mixed Tape will make a good transition colour. The eyeshadow blends flawlessly and the colour payoff is good. This shade will suit fair to medium Indian skin tones.
Staying Power: The staying power is really good with this eyeshadow. It stays on for around 8 hours even without an eye primer. This eyeshadow doesn’t crease or fade on me even after applying the eyeshadow on my oily lids for the whole day. Overall, I am very happy with the product.
Pros of ColourPop Mixed Tape Super Shock Shadow:

- Extremely pigmented.
