My Experience with Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask:
I have been using the Laneige Water Sleeping Pack Ex and I really loved the effects it gave. But during winters, the Laneige mask – which is a gel type mask – did not seem enough for my skin and I started using this sleeping mask. This mask comes both in a tub and a tube packaging. I picked up the tube packaging because of the ease of usage.
The brand claims that the product can be used as a sleeping mask, a wash-off mask or as a moisturizer. I have tried using it in all the ways and it worked well. The product is white in colour and the consistency is creamy. Though it appears like a cream, it doesn’t feel too heavy after application. Also, the smell of the product is very mild.
As a sleeping mask, I apply this after my lotion and cream. I apply this only when my previous products are well absorbed. If not, this might not settle well on the skin and will be uncomfortable to sleep with. It spreads easily upon application and the product gets absorbed soon. But you can still feel a layer of the product on the skin, which is good for the occlusive action the sleeping mask offers.
So, if you have a good amount of hydrating product underneath, you will immensely benefit from using a sleeping mask. In the morning while washing the face I can feel the product getting washed off which means that the product stayed on my face and did some work. The effects are great but not unusual. With the Laneige mask, I used to get a soft and supple skin. This mask gave similar results but in the dry, cold climate. Also, the effect will increase if I use a sheet mask and add an extra layer of a hydrating serum the previous night.
Overall, as a sleeping mask, this works well as an occlusive, gives hydration to the skin and gives the glowing face which we all seek in the winters. As a wash-off mask, I applied a thick layer on the skin and washed it off after 30 minutes. I did not apply any other product beneath it. As a stand-alone product, it really delivered some great hydration to the skin. It will be more useful if you want an immediate boost of hydration.
It can also be used as a pre-makeup pack. The makeup will apply smoothly. As a moisturizer, I applied it after my toner. During the daytime, it was heavy and made my skin look oily. But at night time, it delivered the same results when used as a moisturizer with another sleeping pack. As a stand-alone moisturizer, this might be heavy for oily skin and insufficient for dry skin.

Yes. This works great as a sleeping mask. I did not use it for the brightening aspect and so I am highly satisfied with it. This will be my HG winter sleeping mask.
