Dior Addict Lip Glow – Color Reviver Balm
My husband surprised me with the Dior Addict Lip Glow – Color Reviver Balm a few days after Valentine’s Day. We had spent February 14th at the hospital because I had gone into labor unexpectedly on that day, so we weren’t able to go on a date (obviously). Soon after he, I, and our baby got home from the hospital he handed me this. I knew it was his belated Valentine’s Day gift and yet another way of saying—good job, honey.
From the Dior website:

A made-to-measure lip balm that beautifies and durably enhances the lips’ natural color. A customized color result : thanks to its Color Reviver technology, Dior Addict Lip Glow reacts directly with the unique chemistry of each woman’s lips before releasing its color ingredient. Lips seem revived from within, amazingly fresh, full and radiant. In addition, its formula enriched with wild mango and luffa cylindrica continuously protects and moisturizes. A universal balm for all lips.
Price:
$32
I found it thoughtful and sweet of hubby. He’s clueless about makeup but he told me that he recalled me checking out the Dior Lip Glow at Dior when we passed by the month before. It was one of the items I was interested in, although I don’t think I would have bought it for myself since it’s a lot to pay for what is essentially tinted lip balm.
It’s certainly a luxurious little product though. First, the packaging—it’s nice to look at. I like the pink tube and the small, silver knob on the Lip Glow. Although it’s made of plastic and feels lighting my hand, which is not really what I expected.
Second, the scent. It’s yummy. It’s like, vanilla, chocolate, mint? It’s subtle and not cloying even on a very hot day.

Thirdly, the texture, which I love, and which I think would be what one might expect from a lip balm of this price. The Lip Glow is very smooth, emollient without being greasy, or too heavy, and with just the right amount of slip to it. It feels so good on the lips, I swear. Now, you’d think that it would keep my lips moisturized for hours, but after an hour or two my lips feel dry again.
As for the color, the Dior Addict Lip Glow claims to provide a customized shade, reacting to the chemistry of the wearer’s lips. Definitely reminds me of ‘magic’ lipsticks, if you’ve ever tried those. On my lips the Lip Glow is a whisper of pink, sheer, shiny, very natural-looking, and at times, it looks barely there. On my daughter, who likes to try my lipsticks and makeup, it turns into the prettiest petal pink, a more obvious effect.I do wish it gave more color to my lips, like a pinkish my-lips-but-better color, but I don’t feel too bad.
The Dior Addict Lip Glow comes only in the pink shade, however there’s currently a limited edition, Spring 2014 coral version, which looks quite pretty!
Pros of Dior Addict Lip Glow – Color Reviver Balm
• Has a beautiful texture. Very smooth and emollient, not heavy.
• It has a subtle, pleasant smell.
• There’s no discernible taste to it.
• Has pretty packaging.
• Makes my lips look healthier (for a few hours).
• Doesn’t emphasize flakes or lines on the lips.
• May look natural on the lips.
Cons of Dior Addict Lip Glow – Color Reviver Balm
• The hydrating effect lasts for only two hours, tops.
• The cap doesn’t seem to go onvery securely.
• It’s expensive.
Overall:
It’s nice to have, and it’s quite a pretty product. The texture is really an experience on the lips! So I enjoy using it and it’s always in my purse. However, its hydrating effect is short-lived, and it’s expensive for the whole effect it gives to my lips, so ultimately,I don’t think it’s a must-have.

It was icing on the cake after coming home with our baby. The texture of this is soo nice, must try it for that if you like balms. Thank you, Rati. 🙂
The tube looks so delicate and adorable!!! The formula seems like those mood changing lipsticks which change color every hour. Its surely pricey for a lip balm but the texture seems to work amazingly on your lips.
