Hello lovely ladies,
Long time! I know it’s been pretty long since I wrote on IMBB. I have come out of my self-imposed hibernation for this review which has been long pending. I’m afraid, after this post, I am likely to go back in hibernation for at least a month; struggling with some personal issues 🙁 Hope things get sorted and I am able to return to IMBB full time 🙂 Coming back to the product in hand. This is a fairly new launch from Estee Lauder and was suggested to me by my trusted SAs at EL, when I had gone to pick up a bottle of Advanced Night Repair II. So, let’s see how this fared 🙂
1. Sensitive acne prone skin – Acne means occasional eruptions as well as marks and blemishes of prior ones.
2. Open pores.
3. Dark under eye circles.
With these big problems to address, I am least bothered about issues like aging or wrinkles because the above-mentioned issues are nagging enough for me to bother adding to the woes! I have always wanted to re-look my skin regimen. I do occasionally try new things, but feel too scared because of my sensitive acne-prone skin reacts to changes – and not nicely!
Imagine spending a fortune on a high-end brand to realize it backfired. After all, brands here are not as forthcoming with testers. So God said, “Don’t worry Gurrl! I’ll work some Magic for you!” And Magic did happen – in the form of sponsored reviews from IMBB!
So, I picked Estee Lauder’s Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher.

The product comes in an aquamarine coloured plastic bottle (looks like glass), which makes it easy to carry. The bottle comes packaged in light aquamarine cardboard box, both are extremely pleasing to the eye. The bottle has a gold detailing, gold cap (with EL insignia) and a gold pump. The pump ensures hygiene to the product being dispensed. Also, breakdown of sensitive ingredients is lowered since they do jot come into contact with air. The pump can be taken off, if required – I see myself doing that once the bottle reaches it lag end – to get to the last drop of the product!! 😛 Being plastic, the product is travel friendly and the detailing ensures a luxe feel to the product. The box has a leaflet with details of the product in different languages.
My Experience with Estee Lauder Clear Difference Advanced Blemish Serum:
The product claims to work on blemishes to reduce the marks and reduce their appearance. A lot of products in the market claim to do that. Let’s see if this one works.
I have been plagued with acne since my teens. Some happen due to bad eating habits, but mostly it’s because of the monthly hormonal changes. So while I can still try to work on the quality of food intake, there is little I can do towards what gets governed by the hormones. Needless to say, they leave blemishes and marks in their wake. Some go over time, but some just stay.
I recently had one such acne mark wherein the blood corpuscle had burst inside and the acne subsided, leaving a dark fairly big blemish right in the middle of my cheek. I was resorting to using concealer on it for hiding it. Let me be frank, I’m very very lazy with the use of concealer. So if I skipped it, the blemish would shine through my medium coverage foundations.
I started using this about a month back – only once a day – during daytime because I was using Advanced Night Repair II in the night. I use 2 pumps of the product for my entire face and neck paying special attention to the area which has blemishes. It spreads easily and gets absorbed quickly into the skin. It does not leave any residue.
The product does have a pleasant fragrance. However, I understand that it can be a concern for some. I expected results in 3 weeks – as is the case with most skin care products. However, I was extremely surprised to see changes in my face in a week to 10 days. The blemish on my cheek seemed distinctly light. I got super excited and started using it twice a day – morning and night. It has been 3 weeks now and the blemish on my cheek is still there; however, extremely light and barely discernible. I do not need a concealer at all, to cover it. My foundation takes care of that.
Just to share with you, before using this product, I had used Clinique Dark spot corrector, which barely made a dent despite using it for a whole month. The other weird part about the Clinique product was that a 60 ml bottle got over in less than a month whereas despite using this one regularly, I have used up only 1/3rd of the 50 ml bottle. This one is definitely more bang for your buck – both in terms of efficacy and quantity.
To sum this up for you:
Pros of Estee Lauder Clear Difference Advanced Blemish Serum:
- Post 3 weeks, the skin was more even toned, smooth and almost luminous.
- In 1 week, my pigmentation and blemishes were drastically reduced, almost 40-50%
- In 3 weeks, the blemishes were so drastically reduced – about 80-90%
- The product did not break me out – a big yay!!!!
- The product spreads easily.
- It gets absorbed readily leaving no residue behind.
Cons of Estee Lauder Clear Difference Advanced Blemish Serum:
- The serum has a fragrance, which can be an issue for some.
You really have to try this one to believe how good it is. I had heard such rave reviews about the Clinique spot corrector and was pretty disappointed with its results, but this one turned out to be an absolute game changer. I’m definitely floored. This serum has found a permanent place in my daily regime. I definitely recommend it and will surely repurchase.
