Fabindia Clove Gel Face Pack Review

I will cut the long story short. So I fought with the shopkeeper and did not buy the Himalaya Neem Face Pack. On my way back home, it struck me that I can drop into Fabindia and check for stuff. 😀 😀 😀
So, Mr.Khadoos Shopkeeper – a big thank you to you.
Finally, I went to Fabinida and picked up a couple of things, one of which is the ‘Clove Gel Face Pack’

Why I got attracted to this– First its Fabindia, I will buy even if they sell peanuts for the price of gold (noooo, gold is too expensive these days.. silver is okay..) yaa silver 😛 😛 :P. Second, summers are here along with the pesky pimples and clove is supposed to help. Third, for some reason I ‘imagined’ an out of the world cooling sensation on applying this pack.

What it says– Made with Clove oil this gel face pack helps control excess secretion of sebum from the skin thereby reducing acne and blemishes. It is excellent for oily skin.
Price – Rs.175 for a tub.

Directions for use– Avoiding the eye area, apply the pack and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse with cold water and pat dry.

It comes in a standard Fabindia tub packaging and is sturdy enough, in my opinion. I cannot drop it to check is it will break or not. Please buy one and test for yourself. 😛

On opening the tub you are empowered by the smell, which is a cross between clove oil and cinnamon rolls. 😀 I suck at describing smells, so I will leave it at ‘herbal sweet vicks vaporub’ smell. :silly: And the consistency too is very balm like, a more liquid, softer and lighter version which spreads easily.

My experience– I applied this on a clean dry face. My first expectation was it should feel ‘thanda thanda’.It didn’t. I just felt a very mild tingling sensation around my nose and mouth, nowhere else. After sometime it just disappeared into the skin, almost like I have applied a thin film of something. No heaviness or stretchiness at all. I washed off after 10 minutes, though washing it off is a pain. As it is in a gel from its all gooey pooey and it irks me. My skin looked pretty clear and healthy. No remarkable difference in pimples. And I went to sleep thinking another ‘regret buy’ and some more waste of money. But how wrong I was!!! The next morning I wake up to much brighter skin, no oiliness at all and pimples healed to a large extent. And I fell in love!!!!

Currently I am using it as spot treatment, for the acne and I can safely say that they are healing slowly but surely and will go leaving the baggage of scars behind. It definitely controls oil secretion and does help with pimples. Heals the current ones slowly but stops the new ones in their tracks. What else do I need from this decently priced humble face pack?

Coming to the pros and cons –

Pros of Fabindia Clove Gel Face Pack

1. Lives up to its claims. Controls oil secretion and helps with pimples.
2. Has clove, cinnamon, orange and patchouli oils.
3. I love the relaxing and soothing smell. Something I love to have on my face, sitting in a chilled room with a really nice movie on. 😀
4. No stretchy feeling, neither on drying, nor after washing face.
5. Decently priced and will last long. One full summer season, for sure.

Cons of Fabindia Clove Gel Face Pack

1. Has its share of chemicals and preservatives.
2. Since it’s a gel, it gets absorbed by skin and sticks to it. Washing off is not a pleasant feeling.
3. Comes in a tub. Though I have heard that slowly Fabindia is converting all its products to tube form.

Sensitive skin people may face burning sensation. I really have no clue. Overall, I love this gel face pack and is going to my trusted companion for summers.

Will I Repurchase? – This tub will last me this season. I wouldn’t want this in winters. So we will see next summers.

Rating – 4/5

    1. @ rats – just wanted to say that if that tub is dropped, it breaks and butterfingers that I have I happened to drop it quite a lot of times. I’ve not used the gel pack and I’ve surely used the clove acne control cream (very similar looking – Almost same). Though it didn’t do much good to my acne and pimples and I finally turned to Lacto Calamine and it worked wonders for me.

  10. ha ha naina well done ur too cute.i wa sbaout to review this one
does not work for my pimples
and yes the glass jar does not break 😉 :yelo: :yelo:

  11. Hi…I bought and tried this. It really helps the skin BUT…it stings like hell. Maybe its because I have really sensitive skin. However I am able to bear for a few minutes, after which the burning sensation goes away. But if you have used some product on your face before..like say a scrub…then it is really unbearable 🙁 So generally I wash my face with plain water and then use this pack. If I feel my face is really dirty and want to use a face wash, I apply aloe vera gel first, let it be absorbed..then wash it off with clean water, then this pack.. 😀
