Foundation Suggestion : Ask IMBB

Ask IMBB Gang
Fahee Asks

I’m fahee, 25 year old doctor and a stern reader of IMBB for past 6 months.. believe me that till now ,despite being a make up addict and having spent so much, i still dint find a good foundation.. i’m brownish yellow coloured but turn pink even with the slightest pressure on my face. Can you see my cheeks? I haven’t used any blush. Its kinda pinkish brown because i just came in from the sun and the most close foundation to my skin is lakme invisible foundation shade 04…but even that appears chalky in a few minutes or kinda doesn’t give the yellow brown finish i have..i have some small pores near my nose and 1 or 2 marks too and i have a combination skin..

Please gals, suggest me a good foundation please!!!!! since my posting is in allahabad i cannot buy mac, bobbi brown or
stuffs that is rare to be found at pantaloons or big bazaar here as they are the only places i know..
i can access lakme, maybelline, faces and revlon.. i’m attaching a picture of mine so that it will easy for you to comment…
love ya

  3. i know a lot of ppl might disagree that this is a good product but i love the maybelline matte mousse. it works well especially if you dont want anything heavy. I use it as a concealer too.

    1. i think i’ll buy revlon colorstay now :yelo: so many recommendations for it..perhaps i’ll apply the matte mousse when i dont want heavier coverage. The Maybelline whitestay uv base also seems to be a good buy

  6. Hello Fahee!!! You should really invest in a good concealer.. If you are comfy with online shopping, please get NYX concelaers in jar.. You can get an orange and a green one.. Must sound dangerous.. But apply the orange one in the under eye area and the green one on the reddish patches.. then you can opt for Revlon Colorstay Foundation. These are available in two varieties (for oily skin/for dry skin) and they have seven shades. I am sure, with a little color correction, you’ll be able to achieve that even skin!!! :)) :))

    1. hi mrun..cudnt take my eyes off ur orchid look..great gal..i have yellow skin after i wash my face, so i apply yellow based foundation..then i go out, either sweat or in the sun, i become..sorry my cheeks becums red;((….der r as such no red patches..if i wash the redness goes …my cheeks becomes red wen i go out in sun..so the yellow based foundation becomes ashened…nyx concealers? i’ll surely chec it now coz i know wat an expert u r…any other tips mrun??
again i’m looving ur orchid look

      1. Me no expert Fahee.. :))

It’s just according to basic colour wheel.. Green neutralizes red, orange neutralises blue!!!

If you have strong yellow undertones to your skin, lavender is the colour which will neutralise the yellow. So i guess, the Maybelline primer in purple is ur best bet!!!!

  7. hi mrun..cudnt take my eyes off ur orchid look..great gal..i have yellow skin after i wash my face, so i apply yellow based foundation..then i go out, either sweat or in the sun, i become..sorry my cheeks becums red;((….der r as such no red patches..if i wash the redness goes …my cheeks becomes red wen i go out in sun..so the yellow based foundation becomes ashened…nyx concealers? i’ll surely chec it now coz i know wat an expert u r…any other tips mrun??

  8. Cant suggest anything abt foundation, let the experts speak. I can only say that u look really pretty.. :))

  9. hey folks – wrong place to put this question and i was feeling a little wierd to send it to rati since she puts up so many posts of mine already :tremble:

we have a NYX counter in a mall that has recently opened up close to my place in Hyd and I am very excited about buying something. 😐 Thought i would try their concealers. I saw a review about the yellow and the orange one on IMBB. I have really bad dark circles. will these yelllow and orange work? I currently use Loreal with matte mousse over it but it dosent last whole day and if i touch it up during the day it looks ghastly. i do use an eye cream first.

    any thoughts on NYX concealers

    1. aruna orange cuts the blueness of the undereyes and yellow one conceals and evens out the skintone. if you have severe dark circles, using two concealers is a great idea. :))

      1. Thank you so much for the reply. :thanks: :thanks: In time too since I am heading to the mall after work and so will definitely pick up these 2 shades.

  10. yeah….sayani…gotcha…our bb is like everywhere….
wana check both mny and revlon..u got dat bourjois..huh??

  11. lakme perfect radiance foundation in number 8…its a yellowish brown foundation…very light weight..good for oily skin…u can go for number 7 if your complexion is pinkish brown…or you can mix them both to suit your skin tone…..i found number 7 it too light….currently im mixing number 8 with revlon photoready foundation number 10…

  12. i use maybelline dream mousse foundation , but i find that i need to dilute it with an oil free moisturiser as it has crazy fallout. the one i used is called maybelline dream matte mousse foundation in honey beige – medium 4 . i have heard rave reviews about chambor stick foundation which is all in one. i would recommend using the chambor compact to set your foundation.

Revlon has a mineral foundation which is a mousse texture too. it is lovely spreads like a dream and is godsent for oily skin. it is a bit expensive at 1100 rs. but do try it out at the revlon counter.
