Considering what kind of history India or bollywood has on the red carpet of Cannes, it would be no surprise if someday most of the best dresssed would be from our side of the world.
This year at Cannes 2012 each and every Indian chick who appeared on the red carpet rocked their look. Be it mallika sherwats “go nude,” Aishwarya’s “flaunt the baby fat confidently” or Sonam’s “fairy fashonista” look, every single look had something unuusual and noticeable going on with it. One particular look which made me pen down this article was Frieda Pinto‘s “hands down I am the best look”
Her make up lv shoes and the peplum dress by michael angel at the opening ceremony and ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ premiere during the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival at Palais des Festivals on May 16, 2012 in Cannes, France.
She wore a red stone ring in her finger and kept all the things to the minimum by wearing green emerland earings to go with the dress. In a nut shell: gorgeous! I think the top of her gown was very well matched and suited her skin tone. She looked her dusky best and the peplum was very appropriately placed. Adding to everything, the gown still caught up with the “nice big leg showing slit” of the season. Hence it had all.
The tiny silver belt at the waistline just abover her peplum gave her an illusion of longer leg length and gave her petite frame not only structure but length too. Again a very wise spot to place.
Adding to her confidence and charisma was her appearence with Dev Patel. He looked so done in his suit as always. This is nothing related to fashion but we all can’t help but agree that appearing with your mate of a strong relationship does give any celeb that plus two factor.
What more is those metaalic pumps and the flawless, I say again flawless, make up. The lady has never gone wrong with her make up. There was no extra concealer, no foundation mismatch and the hair was sooo well done. Like droolllest droooll!
The multicolour in the bustier somewhat rmeinded of a peacock the way it looks when it opens up it feathers….
Her Cannes 2012 style has been tagged as versatille.
Black nail varnish deserves a special mention. And I am glad she is not the ones to go with the always swear by black pumps. She went for something unique even thought her outfit had enough gloss.
Her white outfit of pacco rabbane by manish arora was glam too. Just the right glam!
For the dinner she spotted a black versace gown and and for the rag and bone peremier the next day the lady spotted a lime green versaceatelier gown with again, not to forget, a very high slit. Three cheers to the lady, do you see one damn occasion she failed to live up to the image she has made up in hollywood till today? I don’t. But of all the light pink Michael Angel peplum gown with a multicolored bustier for the premiere of “Moonrise Kingdom” is my favorite and will always be. If given a chance I’d wear something like that and be all fidaaaa about it.!!!!
Comment and let me know how you liked Frieda and her style, make up etc!

She is gorgeous! A very very beautiful lady indeed. 🙂
abinaya i think so too!she is indeed
I liked her makeup and dress in all the pics.. she looked much much better when compared to other indians in the event 🙂
shami indeed even i think so….some might think ash but frida is someone i can relate too!!!
Sexy!!! This type of body comes with a lot of weight training.
i agree nidhi. her chest and her abs speak volumes of how much hard work she does at the gym.
aisa kyaaa hai rabbaa
nidhi i dont know about that work out is the term id use!he he he!!!
very pretty indeed. i noticed that she always wears her hair up. Is it becos it makes her look taller? but whatever it is she looks very groomed and very elegant..
top bun does add to the height. 🙂
haina aru hair up and hardly eevr open….all tied hairdosss and lovely onesss!!!!
I adored all her styles were really gorgeous. I loved that blue geometric print one especially. I just felt that the white one was not too flattering on her body but guess she is carrying that one also pretty well. loved her makeup too. :))
am thinking some jewelry maybe just even big earrings might have made the white dress even dressier..but i am glad she is not looking trashy in any of her fotos..like Mallika does in some of her fotos.
I agree.
btw does malika do hollywood movies. she ends up being at cannes all the time ?
aru i likey that one too!!!!u think madame m looks trashy he he?she is her own bestie
I am seriously surprised why no justice is done to sonam kapoor’s makeup… may be she gives way too much instructions about her makeup 😐
yesh Sonam is somehow for us closer to home..For me I still dont identify Freida as an indian star..definitely very Hollywood so am more partial to the Sonam’s and the Ash’s of thw world..
yeah i also dont relate that much with freida. I am just amazed at the makeup. all three are loreal ambassadors and the only one end up being with bad makeup is sonam. So actually the fault cant be at loreal’s end. guess she really needs to ease out a bit. this year i feel the super high expectations got on to her and not a single one of her cannes look stood out. sad!
true.. other than sonam both aish and frieda rocked!!!
shreyaaaaaaaaaaa
i totally agree with you rati…
rati i say relate to frieda because of her skin tone and everything ask and sonam are just another of the same kind from bollywood but somehow frieda is more far fetched but more real…or i can say more like girl next door.dusky regular height and gud:)ash is just to pretty to relate too and sonam too tall and fancy!
Even though i think she is yet to do some more major films before qualifying for all the hype she is getting, i totally agree her fashion and makeup sense is totally thumbs up . .i really liked the her minimalistic approach . . totally rocking <3
yeee dr rashmiii!!!
i love her flawless makeup ,dresses & the way she carries herself is awesome…..
yes kavita
really graceful and lady-like naa….
beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
