Okay, my confession – I have never used a dry shampoo before. Before you go ‘huh?’, let me explain. Living in a place as warm and humid as Kolkata, made me wash my hair quite regularly. So whenever it felt dull, greasy, limp and lifeless, I would shampoo my hair. The comfort of home became prominent while living in a hostel. With erratic class timings and being perpetually late, a full-on head wash becomes a challenge. And the summers are so sweaty that my hair and scalp both need extra attention. My Experience with Herbal Essences Body Envy Instant Clean Dry Shampoo:
The packaging is so cool. It looks tropical and summery. The slender long bottle is citrusy orange in color and looks so refreshing. It has a spray dispenser and a transparent cap to prevent accident spraying. All product details are mentioned on the body of the bottle. I feel that this isn’t the best size to travel with. Overall, it’s a travel safe and lovely packaging.
Clairol’s Herbal Essences has a cult following especially because of their shampoo-conditioner range. I have used their “Touchably Smooth” range and had loved the effects. So while picking my first dry shampoo (I was in severe dilemma about Batiste and Herbal Essences), I decided to pick this up.
Coming to the smell of the product, it has some citrus hints amidst some other strong base smell which I can’t clearly understand. The spray nozzle dispenses product uniformly. I slightly massage it and brush my hair.
The best thing is that it doesn’t leave any white residue, so my hair looks fresh. Yes, although I don’t feel it makes my hair as fresh as a shampoo wash, you can definitely forgo a day of shampooing in times of dire need. My greasiness vanished quickly and it looked quite nice. It definitely gives a burst of volume to my hair. My hair which looks limp and lifeless, got some body and bounce. It gives a lift at the roots, hence hair looks somewhat voluminous.
On the flip side, it makes my hair hard and difficult to comb after some hours, especially if you have unmanageable hair like mine. I need to shampoo the very next day to get rid of the hardened strands. I use this dry shampoo only as an emergency measure, absolutely no time to shampoo and I need to rush off to some event.
