Today, I would be sharing my views on Jane Iredale Glow Time Full Coverage BB Cream. It is a skin care plus makeup product. Glow Time claims to cover blemishes, minimises the appearance of pores, disguises wrinkles and smoothes and brightens skin. My Experience with Jane Iredale Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream:
Comes packaged in a good quality, shiny golden coloured, rectangular shaped, flat tube which has a matte golden coloured screw open cap. This glamorous looking tube comes packed in a rectangular shaped, white coloured cardboard box. This packaging can be termed travel friendly.
Having used Jane Iredale Tinted Moisturizer, I wanted to try their BB cream as well to make my skin look flawless. Since my skin is sensitive, I did some research and only after learning that this bb cream is okay for sensitive skin type, I bought it. This is my first beauty balm and I choose the shade B7, which is described as medium with strong yellow undertones. Actually my shade is B6 (light to medium with strong yellow undertones like warm sienna), since I fall in the “moderately fair” category. However, I wanted to try a slightly different shade.
This BB cream has a thick, creamy consistency with a smooth, velvety texture. It can be applied using fingers or a foundation brush. I have tried applying this BB cream with my fingers, Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush, and Color Me Automatic Foundation Applicator. The effect obtained is equally good with all three – finger tips, brush, or applicator.
It blends smoothly and applies easily. Makeup is best worn on clean, exfoliated and moisturised skin and I follow this rule. I squeeze out two dollops of BB cream and tap it on my forehead, nose, chin, cheeks and jaw line. I start blending from my nose moving towards my cheeks and so on all over my face.
“Shade B7” has strong yellow undertones, which initially gives a golden coloured glow to my skin. After application, it starts getting absorbed into the skin and blends well with my skin tone, imparting a natural glow.
My skin looks younger, fresher, and feels smooth. It’s a beauty balm which gives good coverage and a luminous glow. It shows that I am wearing makeup, but skin feels light and velvety. It blurs imperfections like blemishes, acne marks and freckles. Does not accentuate my pores, but minimises pores and fine lines; gives even and smooth skin tone. It also keeps my skin hydrated, does not dry out or irritate my sensitive skin; however, a concealer is a must to conceal very obvious and dark blemishes/spots. I sometimes prefer applying Clarins Smooth Perfecting Touch primer beneath this BB cream.
When I skip primer, this BB cream tends to disappear from my nose, exposing my freckles. I also apply powder on my face, concentrating on my nose and T zone. The primer and the powder, both help in keeping this beauty balm in place. It does not oxidise or disappear, if I constantly remain in moderately cool, air conditioned surroundings. However, if I step out in the hot, noon sun and spend more time in the very hot and humid weather, it tends to disappear from my nose and mildly oxidise around my T zone, which then needs to be re-touched with a compact powder or so. However, does not look funny or obvious, just natural. My skin can breathe I do not feel as if I am wearing any makeup. It gives almost full coverage and is long lasting. I have put it to test from six to eight hours and even more, it has lasted on my skin throughout.
This BB cream has SPF protection. This is my first BB cream and I feel it has given me much more than a foundation. Preps the skin beautifully for wearing makeup, by adding a natural glow and does not feel heavy or cakey, blurs imperfections and skin looks much better and even textured. It tightens my facial skin and makes me look younger. I did get compliments when I had worn it for the first time. What more can I say!
