Johnson’s Baby Oil Review
As we had discussions here in IMBB regarding how new borns get heaps of Johnsons products like their soap, oil, shampoo, etc and thus here is the review of one such product that I got, I mean Neya got as a gift. Next to the Johnsons Baby Soap the most used product by me is Johnsons Baby Oil. Yes most used by “Me” and not Neya. Doctor advised me to use Olive Oil and Almond Oil for massage and when I asked about Johnson’s Baby Oil, she was like “Who is that Johnson?” So it was obvious that Almond and Olive Oil were better for the kid and thus I ended up using the Johnson’s baby oil.

I have a dry skin and I can’t step out of the house without a moisturizer. Very rarely my moisturizers help me throughout the day. Towards end of the day my skin again starts longing for some more lotion. So before going to bed I used to apply some oil all over my arms and legs. Now I am using the Johnsons Baby oil as an alternative for night lotions/oils.

The Johnson’s Baby Oil is pure, mild and gentle. Contains Aloe Vera extract and Vitamin E acetate. Apply gently in small quantities using firm but gentle strokes, before bath and for moisturising after bath. Mildly perfumed. Non-staining.
Ingredients – Mineral Oil, Aloe Barbadensis extract, Vitamin E Acetate, Fragrance.
100 ml of Johnson’s Baby Oil costs Rs.77.
I take a small amount in my palms and rub it all over evenly. This oil is completely non-sticky and my skin absorbs this immediately leaving a mild shine. Since my skin is very dry during winters how much ever I apply I don’t feel like I have applied enough. This might be due to the reason that I got used to the normal oil that leaves intense shine unlike the baby oil.
Pros of Johnson’s Baby Oil
• Very light and gets easily absorbed.
• Not at all sticky.
• Best moisturising oil for any skin type.
• Comes in a transparent bottle and hence I know how much is left over.
• One bottle lasts long in spite of me layering it again and again.
• Easily available.
• Has a mild fragrance and thus not at all disturbing.
Cons of Johnson’s baby Oil
• This oil won’t help my dry skin during winters.
My Rating – 4/5
Will I repurchase? – I need not repurchase, I have heaps left out . 🙂

Ya Monika many of you here use it as a makeup remover. I have to try that too 🙂
I use J&J oil as my makeup remover.. It’s the most gentle and effective makeup remover EVER!!!! I love it better than any makeup remover and I am least likely to buy any other now..
Aarthi as i have dry skin too, I’ll advise you to try this for makeup removal, as most cleansers leave my skin dry, but this doesn’t.
I will definitely try this for makeup removal Mrun 🙂
even i use it to remove makeup!
😀 😀
The scary part about most baby oils is they include mineral oil which doesn’t absorbed by the skin .
Here is an article I wanted to share to let you all know the dangers that can come from using mineral oil such as vitamin deficiency , birth defects , and more . Please read if you are concerned or have used baby oil before . Thank you . http://www.livestrong.com/article/121496-dangers-mineral-oil/
I will go through this one va 🙂

Wonder why you cant use on kiddoos ?:)
Everyone loves this one 🙂
nice review aarthi
Thanks Bhumika 🙂
Hey aarthi,
i used to remove my makeup with this oil but a year back my dermatologist adviced me against it. Apparently it was clogging my pores which i can believe because i have been struggling with blackheads and whiteheads.
However, I dilute the johnson’s moisturizer and use that as a body moisturizer especially in summers, simply love it! 🙂
Oh really.. Clogging pores ?:)
Mineral oils are not advisable to be used on baby skin. Plant based oils are the best! I use this to remove my make-up! 🙂
