My Experience with Kiko #119 Pearly Nutmeg Eyeshadow:
Packaging:: The eyeshadow comes in a small plastic round black pan which has a lid attached to it. The lid is opaque and hence the actual color is not visible that easily. The pan is packed in a cardboard carton. The ingredients are mentioned on the side of the cardboard carton in a small slip attached to it and the shade number is written on the top. The shade number is also mentioned at the bottom of the eyeshadow pan.
Although the name is mentioned on the website, it is nowhere mentioned on the eyeshadow pot or the carton.
Color: “Pearly Nutmeg” is a very pretty burnt bronze color. It has this foiled eyeshadow kind of look which gives it a metallic touch. It does not look so when you see it on the website, but it is absolutely gorgeous in real. Such colors complement Indian skin tones beautifully.
There are no shimmer particles, but at the same time, the shade is not matte either. It has this very pretty subtle luminous look. Texture wise, it is velvety soft. It is not at all chalky or dry. The finish after application is very smooth and even. It is super easy to blend.
The pigmentation is good, but the best part is that it is light when you apply and can be built up to darker hues. So, you can start with light shade on the lids and build up at the outer corner of the eye with a darker shade and it looks awesome. You can play around with the intensity. The staying power is good, around 4-5 hours, after which it starts to fade. I would recommend using an eyeshadow base as it would not only enhance the staying power, but also bring out that brightness and metallic tint to its fullest. It does not crease on oily lids though. It is not completely waterproof, but you will need an eye makeup remover to remove it completely. I love it to the core!
