Today’s review will be on a lipstick from KIKO’s Luminous Chrome-Metallic range. I have only one shade from this range #713 Fuchsia.

Claims:
The sensuousness of a creamy texture meets the glamor effect of a ground breaking metallic finish for full coloured lips with iridescent brightness. Silky and light on the lips, Luminous Chrome emphasizes the natural volume of your lips with a multi-reflecting, intense pearly effect, with adjustable coverage. The special high-melt waxes ensure perfect adherence and a long lasting lustrous and even colour.

Packaging:
The lipstick comes in a black matte cardboard box. The lipstick is housed in a metallic pearly pink tube. The cap is in a similar metallic pearly silver color. The mechanism of this lipstick is a bit different and I have never seen something like this before. The cap closes on firmly and does not open easily on its own. To open, you need to push the top of the cap and it eventually pushes the lipstick down.

The cap closes with a click. The lipstick has twist up mechanism. The lipstick is chubby, but very travel friendly. The number of the lipstick is mentioned on the carton and the base of the lipstick. The name is mentioned on the website, but not on the carton or the lipstick itself.

My Experience with KIKO #713 Fuchsia Luminous Chrome – Metallic Lipstick:

Fuchsia is a pretty pink shade with a bit of blue undertones. These lipsticks are supposed to have a metallic finish as per the company’s claims, but I would put it more of being frosted. The moment you see the lipstick bullet, you can see that it has this metallic frosted tint to it. It shines! There are no shimmers in it. The finish of this shade is neither matte nor too glossy. But it has this metallic shine that makes it look more alive.

The texture here is soft and creamy. The bullet is not very soft but at the same time it is not too hard either. It has a teardrop shape which increases the ease of application. Fuchsia will not tug or pull at the lips during application. Fuchsia does not crumble on lips, but does accentuate rough patches and settles into fine lines. It is neither too drying nor too moisturizing, but I would recommend a lip balm always.

The pigmentation is good and even a single swipe imparts true color on the lips. There is not much difference in single and multiple swipes. But multiple layering gives an opaque coverage and since the shade is dark and pigmented, it covers lip pigmentation as well. Multiple layering does not feel sticky or heavy on the lips. The staying power is good enough for 5-6 hours after which it starts fading away from the center of the lips. It does transfer a bit to the cutlery. This is not waterproof and does not have any bothersome smell. I love the color and wish I had bought more from this range.
