My Experience with L.A. Girl Limelight Gel Glide Eyeliner Pencil:

Let’s begin with the packaging of the product. The eyeliner comes in a matte black colored sharpenable pencil packaging. This matte black pencil is printed with color-coded patterns. The base is also color coded. The pencil has a clear cap that does not shut with any click sound. Hence, it is necessary to shut the cap tightly as it slips off easily. This is a sharpenable pencil that needs to be sharpened after every use to get a fresh pointed tip. The pencil does not come with any sharpener. Overall, the packaging is fine and travel friendly, but the clear cap looks a little flimsy.

The shade “Limelight” is fresh lime green eyeliner, which is loaded with golden shimmers. The shimmer in the eye pencil is not chunky and gives a nice luminescence to this eyeliner. This is a stunning green shade that helps to create dramatic eye looks. This is my second favorite shade from this entire range. I love how it looks on my eyes. Though the shade is bright, it does not look over the top.

L.A. Girl Limelight Gel Glide Eyeliner Pencil tip

I have used the shade “Limelight” along with “Gold Mine” in the eye swatch below. In terms of pigmentation, I am not much impressed with this eye pencil because it requires multiple swipes to make the color intense, but the color is easily buildable, so I am actually happy with it.  I have already mentioned in my earlier posts that I am totally in love with the texture of these eye pencils because they feel soft and smooth and glide easily and smoothly on the eyelids without any tugging or pulling. There is no grittiness in the texture of this eye pencil.

The eyeliner sets to a velvety finish. The formula is lightweight and feels light. This eyeliner is safe for contact lens wearers. The color is easily buildable on my upper and lower lash line, but it is very difficult to build up the color on my waterline. There is some substance in the composition of this eyeliner that makes it waterproof but difficult to apply on my waterline. It glides evenly on the eyelids and never gets patchy. The shimmers in the eyeliner stay in and does not budge at all. The pencil is waterproof and smudge-proof. It does not have that tendency to crease. It looks so fresh throughout the day.

The staying power of this eye pencil is lovely. It lasted for more than 8 hours on my eyelids with a minimal fading from the corners. The color looks fresh and intense all day long, but the color fades away after 4-5 hours from my waterline. There is not much of a smudging issue. The eyeliner is easy to remove, but the shimmers will be left behind, if a good makeup remover is not used. Overall, I am totally in love with this eye pencil, so I would not mind the minor cons.
