Of late, I have trained my eyes on eyeliners, predominantly the coloured variety so much that I haven’t spent a dime on a black one in quite some time. As such it was a no surprise that I was fresh out of good black eyeliners on scavenging my makeup kitty for the same. And so, I have recommenced my romance with the dark one and blew a few bucks on Black eyeliner this time around. Today, I am going to share my views on L.A. Girl Endless Auto Eyeliner in the shade “Very Black”. Read my full description about this product.

My Experience with L.A. Girl Endless Auto Eyeliner GP301 Very Black:
Packaging: Starting off with the packaging, this eyeliner pencil comes in a regular, sleek black pencil form. Since it comes in a retractable form, there will be no unwanted wastage of product. It has a color-coded cap which makes the shade identification easier. The cap sits securely in place. The packaging looks very simple. The product body bears no information about the product. The shade name is neatly mentioned on the side of the eyeliner body. Other than that, no such significant product detail is mentioned on the body of the pencil. Overall, the packaging is sturdy and travel-friendly.
Shade: The colour of the shade “Very Black” matches with the shade name given to it. It is a classic, deep black coloured eye pencil which doesn’t need any detailed shade description. The colour is absolute matte and does not contain any hint of shimmer or glitters in it. It is devoid of any sort of glossiness also. Needless to mention, black is the safest option when it comes to choosing eyeliners and goes perfectly with any occasion. From a brunch makeup look to rocking a wedding look, black becomes the true savior for me. Now that I have brought this pencil, I am pretty sorted with my black eyeliner.
Pigmentation: The colour is pigment packed. The pigmentation is quite intense and gives a very good colour payoff. Only one swipe is sufficient for an opaque coverage. However, you can apply 2-3 swipes for building a more intense colour. You don’t have to apply any pressure for drawing the lines on your eyes. The formula could have been better, but the colour shows up well on the eyes. The strokes are quite neat and are free from being messy.
Texture and Finish: The texture of this eyeliner is soft and smooth. It is not buttery and kind of creamy like gel-based crayon liners but it would not cause any pulling or tugging of the eyelids. This eyeliner is very easy to work with and even amateurs can work with such kind of formulation pretty effortlessly. The application is very even.
The formula of this pencil is quite nice and it won’t dry down immediately. So, you get some time and you can even create a soft look on your eyes by using a smudger brush. But, you have to be really swift during application as it is not meant for a smokey eye look purpose. The liner sets to a gorgeous, absolute matte finish which I love. It feels very comfortable on the eyes. It will never cause any irritation or sting your eyes.
The best part about this liner is that once it dries down, it stays in place and it won’t transfer at all. So, if you are in the lookout for smudgeproof eyeliner, then it is just apt for you. These are transfer-proof, smudgeproof and waterproof.
This eyeliner can come handy in so many ways. You can use it simply as a coloured kajal, or for creating smokey eye looks. You can draw lines easily on both the upper and lower lash line. Since my eyes are quite sensitive, I have some trouble applying it on the waterline. To make your eyes look bigger, open your eyes wide and draw the liner directly onto the top lash line.
In a nutshell, I feel at this price point the texture could have been better in terms of creaminess. Otherwise, I loved the formulation of this pencil.
Staying Power: The staying power of this eyeliner is quite long. It stays for about 9-10 hours on the upper lash line without smudging or transferring. Since my eyes get watery on the lower lash line, it stays for about 5-6 hours. This is the only issue with this liner. The colour intensity of this eyeliner starts to fade slowly if you have oily eyelids. Despite all these cons, I do feel this it is a quite long-wearing eyeliner and is perfect for parties and weddings where you can ignore having frequent touch-ups. Those who have oily lids, it is advisable to prime your lids with a loose powder or an eye primer for oil absorption and increase the longevity of the liner.
This eyeliner cannot be removed by normal water-based eye makeup remover since it is completely waterproof. But no worries!! Oil-based makeup remover can come to the rescue here. A few swipes of your oil-based remover and this liner can get wiped off completely.
Overall: Decent pigmentation, soft and smooth texture, decent staying power and definitely the shade is my favourite black colour. I think that I don’t want anything more. It performs quite well with just a few cons. Overall, this is good black eyeliner and I do recommend it to the readers.
