My Take on Lakme Absolute Illuminating Lip Shimmer – Tinsel Peach:
The packaging is simple, smart and sleek. The black looks classy! Most of the details are mentioned on the outer carton. Overall, I feel the packaging of this range is the best by Lakme so far.
Coming to the shade, the name is really misleading. Tinsel peach is not a peach, but a bright orange. The color is really bold and looks more like a vermillion orange on me. The lipstick instantly draws all the attention to the lips because of the pop of color and high shine. But I feel the color doesn’t suit me. I mean I do love oranges and love wearing them in summers, but I don’t feel comfortable while wearing this, and although I love experimenting with bold lips, I don’t carry this confidently enough!
The pigmentation is something that I was really impressed with, one swipe gives you rich, creamy color. It hides the pigmentation on lips really well. The texture is really smooth and the lipstick glides on lips without any tugging. As it’s highly pigmented, two swipes give you an almost neony pout.
Now, something I absolutely hate! The shimmers! The golden shimmers do give that high shine appeal to the lips, but they look so tacky after a while. While the application of color is completely a divine experience, the aftereffects of shimmers are a nightmare! And I am not exaggerating here. The shimmers make your lips really dry after an hour and if you haven’t exfoliated your lips before, the shimmers are going to set in the dry patches. The color stays on your lips for long (2 hours without eating anything) and the shimmers stay for longer! A meal takes away most of the color and you are left with chunky glitters on your lips (see the swatch). And if you try to wipe off the shimmers, they’ll just transfer here and there. I have nothing against shimmer lipsticks, but this is way too much. I can go on and on, so I think I should just stop right here.
What I Liked about Lakme Absolute Illuminating Lip Shimmer – Tinsel Peach:
• Classy packaging.
• Superbly pigmented.
• Creamy texture.
• Bold and bright color; orange lovers may love it.
What I Didn’t Like about Lakme Absolute Illuminating Lip Shimmer – Tinsel Peach:
• Makes lips dry after a while.
• Shimmers set in lines and dry patches.
• A meal takes away all the color leaving just the glitters that look so tacky.
• Shimmers transfer, if you try to wipe them off.
After a meal,
IMBB Rating: 2.5/5
Would I Recommend Lakme Absolute Illuminating Lip Shimmer – Tinsel Peach?
You can get it just for the love of orange, but honestly speaking, at this price, you can get much better lipsticks. Even Lakme’s other ranges are so much better any day. A toned down version of this would be Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color – Vermilion Fired.
