My Take on Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick P164:
As soon as I saw that the old favourite has been revamped I rushed to get one. There are approximately 6-7 colors in the whole range nothing very impressive though.
Packaging: I like the packaging a lot. It is a transparent plastic tube. We can see the color of the bullet, so the lipsticks are easy to identify. There is no shade name still which is ok for me. The cap is sturdy enough and hence it is travel friendly.
Texture: The lipstick is creamy soft and smooth. The pigmentation is good. In my opinion one swipe gives opaque coverage. In fact I don’t think layering is such a good idea as it will feel sticky and very heavy on the lips. This is very good for people with pigmented lips. It keeps your lips hydrated for a long time.
Shade: Coming to the worst part is the shade. I don’t even know how to describe it. It looks like a beautiful coral color on the bullet but on my lips it look very pale and washes me out (I am NC 42). I hate that the lipstick is so frosty and has too much shimmer. I love matte lipsticks or lipsticks sans shimmer. I have no idea how to use this one. Please give me some tips on how to utilise this shade. 🙁
Staying power: Doesn’t stay longer than 2-3 hours if you eat or drink etc; and by that time the shimmers are all over your lips and on the side of your mouth. It has the same smell like the older ones.
Coming to the pros and cons now. 🙂
Pros of Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick P164:
- Rich Creamy texture
- Good pigmentation
- Application is very smooth
- Cool toned coral colour
- A good shade for fair skinned tones
- Good for beginners
Cons of Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick P164:
- Staying time is very less
- Too much shimmer
- Will not suit medium skin tones
- Very transferrable
- Needs to be reapplied after 2-3 hours.
IMBB Rating:
2.5/5
Would I repurchase Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick P164?
I am so disappointed that I wasted my money getting this. One of my resolution this year was to stop buying cheap lipsticks and hence I have been hoarding only MAC lippies (mostly the retro matte). Well I learned my lesson and I will stop buying things that only look pretty.
Also on a completely different note, I finally got Ruby Woo. I know I am probably the last person on IMBB to buy this but somehow I thought spending 1450/- on a lipstick was not worth it. Oh boy! I was so wrong. I have never looked so sophisticated with a red pot.
Would I recommend Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick P164?
Please do not buy this shade and waste you money. I won’t even take this lipstick for free. 😛
