My Experience with Lakme Satin Enrich Lipstick-161:
I had picked this lipstick a while back with the other one I reviewed before. This shade looked interesting and I had never tried such a shade before , hence I got it to see how well it goes with my skin tone and if I can carry it well, as for the price it comes one can easily try some shades before investing in higher end brands andother brighter shades.
The lipstick comes in the same old lakme packaging, it comes in a purplish plastic body, the cap shuts well and it is travel friendly, the packaging is decent for the price.
The shade 161 is a Barbie pink kind of color without any shimmer. It is not too light and milky and does not washout my medium skin tone, but the shade is definitely tricky and I like applying it with a very light hand and blotting it to tone it down or wear it over a neutral lip liner and I love how it looks that way. When worn on its own it can look a bit neonish and very bright. It looked like a neutral shade of pink in the tube with balanced warm and cool undertones, but it comes off slightly cool toned on me due to the yellow undertones in my skin tone. This shade is best suited for light to medium skin tones.
The texture of this one is okay nowhere as good as the other one I have. It is creamy and slightly moisturizing but is not very smooth. You need a lip balm especially if you have dry lips with this one for an even application. And prepping lips prior to application is a must with it, as it literally highlights and magnifies all the dry patches and fine lines on lips, it has a tendency of settling into lines and looking patchy as well. The texture is very soft and needs to be handled with a lot of care in this weather particularly, while applying the bullet accidently broke from the base with slight pressure and hence it looks messy :D, but it got fixed easily 😛
Pigmentation is pretty decent, it gives enough color payoff in a single swipe, but for pigmented lips two to three swipes will be required. It lasts for 3- 4 hours after which there is a very light stain left behind which comes off easily it does transfer everywhere.
Pros of Lakme Satin Enrich Lipstick-161:
• Soft and creamy texture
• Feels very comfortable on lips
• Good pigmentation
• Very reasonably priced and easily available
• Decent staying powder
• There is no shimmer in it, has a creamy finish
Cons of Lakme Satin Enrich Lipstick-161:
• Settles a lot into lip lines
• Not very smooth and needs a lip balm underneath
• Due to the soft texture bullet is prone to breaking and melting in this weather
• Highlights all the dry patches on lips and looks patchy
• Boring packaging
• The color is tricky and may not work well for all skin tones
Do I recommend Lakme Satin Enrich Lipstick-161?
Even though I like the color formula is not very good and the application needs some prepping to make it look even and presentable so it’s better to skip this one!
