L’Oréal has launched a matte version of their liquid lip colors under the L’Extraordinaire Color Riche range in 11 stunning shades. As their glossy liquid lip colors were loved by many, these matte lip colors in the same formulation will be loved by many matte lovers. I picked up the shade Opera Amaranth.

My Experience with L’Oréal Paris Color Riche L’Extraordinaire Mat – Opera Amaranth:
Packaging: The lip color comes in a very stylish gold case with a see-through color window and base, making it easy to identify the shade. The sponge applicator picks the right amount of product and spreads it evenly. Its twist-up cap seals the product perfectly. I feel it would have been better if the packaging was different from their glossy variant.
Texture: The texture is creamy and smooth. It is not sticky. If we try to even it out by pressing our lips together, the color moves and gives an uneven finish. Although these lip colors are highly pigmented, two swipes are needed for an even, smooth finish for pigmented lips. But the second coat applies streaky.
Performance: The lip color is a moist liquid lipstick. It does not apply like a supermatte lipstick and is not drying. It is absolutely very light on lips. It will take a while to set as a semi-matte finish. I just love this texture and finish. This shade is a bright blue-based, cool-toned pink and not a neon pink. It will suit best young college-going girls who like to experiment with such unique shades. This shade looks best when worn as a stain. I find it cracking or flaking when applied as a full-on lipstick.
This shade is so gorgeous in pictures, and its minute flakiness will never show up unless you click a close-up of your lips. It brightens up the face instantly. The most annoying part is it transfers crazily. By mistake if your stole or finger touches your lips, it is all likely to get stained by the lip color. But the color does not bleed. The color stayed on my lips for around 5 hours. It could survive light snacks and beverages. The color does not fade away completely but leaves behind a beautiful stain. It does not settle into fine lines. A makeup remover is a must to remove the color.

Yes, I recommend this product to those who have chapped lips and do not enjoy/use a matte lip color. I will definitely purchase other shades in this range.
