Hope all of you are enjoying the spring season! Thankfully we are also experiencing bright sunshine these days and I am hopeful for our upcoming trip. Our gal will complete 4 years soon, and we are planning to surprise her with a Disneyland, zoo & museum trip on our 5-day trip to Los Angeles. My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Infallible 8 HR Pro Gloss Barely Nude:

The gloss comes in a usual transparent plastic packaging with a glossy black cap, common to all pro gloss shades. It does have a funky smell which I dislike, but then it is not a matter of concern. Over all, I find the packaging pretty user friendly and travel friendly.

The shade, Barely Nude, seems to be a nude peach shade to me as it complements my pale skin tone very well. I am sure it will complement a variety of pale, light and dusky skin tones with its peachy-nude hue on the lips. In fact it comes up as semi-opaque on my lips, blurring minor flaws nicely without looking cakey or layered. However I am not very happy with its formula or say texture, which seems tacky on the lips. I mean, I love the way it comes up – smooth and semi-opaque on lips, but I dislike that tacky and sticky feel it provides for several minutes post application.

Though the tackiness fades away after few hours, the gloss stops looking shiny on the lips. I say so because if you are a typical gloss fan, then you might be expecting a juicy wet shine on the lips as long as the gloss stays. But sadly, this “gloss” has all good qualities like intensely pigmented color, ability to cover minor dryness etc but it is not as shiny as a normal gloss.

Like, if I opt for glosses over liquid lipsticks, then I would definitely like former to deliver high glossy shine apart from coverage and hydrating finish, that’s where this gloss fails! It provides me decent coverage, it even stays on for good number of hours, but then it does not give a glossy finish. Come on L’Oreal, I know you have always amazed me with outstanding products! But, I am slightly disappointed this time.

By the way, the gloss has the tendency to cling on to dry patches after a while, hence well scrubbed and hydrated lips are highly recommended. Overall, I feel that the color is absolutely outstanding, just that I am not convinced with the formula this time. Since the shade is dupable, I am hopefully getting it again but in some other brand. You might want to skip it unless you are fine with the tacky feel.

• A shimmer-free, creamy, nude gloss
• Color is intense enough to cover mild dryness and lip pigmentation
• Spreads easily on my dry lips without bleeding or feathering
• Gives a semi-opaque coverage
• Does not dry out my lips
• Stays on for 4-5 hours
• Packaging is user friendly and travel friendly

Cons of L’Oreal Paris Infallible 8 HR Pro Gloss Barely Nude:

• Feels slightly tacky on lips
• Does not have the juicy shiny of a gloss
• Might highlight or cling to dry patches after a couple of hours
• Might settle into the lip lines after a couple of hours
• Stays nicely only for 2-3 hours
