My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Rouge Magique Lipstick 901 The Fort:

Let’s begin with the packaging of this lipstick. L’Oreal Paris always come up with really interesting and attractive packaging. The lipstick comes in a gorgeous black and metallic pink packaging. The lipstick tube is matte black in color and has a beautiful metallic pink cap. This cap shuts very securely making a click sound and ensures that the lipstick packaging is purse friendly.

The metallic pink packaging looks quite girly and attractive. There is a color-coded sticker at the base of the tube, which bears the shade name and number. I store these lipsticks upside down to spot the shades in my stash with the help of the color-coded stickers. The lipstick has a normal twist-up mechanism which works pretty smoothly. The lipstick has a regular bullet shape, which facilitates easy and smooth application. The lipstick bullet is quite firm and does not break or detach from the base. Overall, I love the packaging of these lipsticks.

“The Fort” is the darkest shade of all. It is a deep wine shade with purple undertones. This is a deep dark vampy kind of shade. The color is bold, bright and perfect for the fall. This is surely not an everyday shade. It is absolutely gorgeous shade for different occasions. It brightens up the complexion and adds glam to the entire look. Though this shade will flatter almost every skin tone, but it will be more flattering for dusky skin tones.

The lipstick does not contain any sheen or shimmer and sets to a soft velvety matte finish. The lipstick wins in terms of pigmentation. One swipe gives semi-opaque coverage and covers the pigmentation of the lips up to a good extent. I apply a second coat to intensify and even out the color. The color spreads evenly on the lips and never gets patchy. The color does not look uneven on the lips, which happens to most of the darker shades. They tend to get too dark at some place and too light on some. But, this lipstick imparts even dark color to the lips.

The texture of the lipstick is amazing. Most of the matte lipsticks are drying. They crack after some time but the formula of this lipstick is buttery smooth. It glides effortlessly on the lips without causing any tugging or pulling. The texture is soft and smooth. Since it is a matte lip color, so it has the tendency to cling to the dry patches of the lips, which occurs with almost every matte lip color. So, prepping the lips well is mandatory. The formula is lightweight and feels super comfortable on the lips. The texture is lightweight and feels ultra comfortable on the lips. The lipstick is very moisturizing and nourishing. It is a non-drying matte lipstick. It keeps my lips hydrated all the time and looks lovely on the lips, never gets patchy. The color stays at place and does not budge even after meals. It does not settle into the fine lines of the lips and looks smooth on the lips.

The lipstick lasts for approximately 6-7 hours on my lips with a little fading. It survives light meals but does not survive a heavy meals and it fades from the center of the lips. The lipstick leaves a stain behind, which can be taken off easily with a good makeup remover. Overall, these lipsticks from L’Oreal Paris are insanely good and definitely worth trying.
