My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Rouge Magique Lipstick 907 Mauve Petal:

Let’s begin with the packaging of this baby. L’Oreal Paris always come up with really interesting and attractive packaging. The lipstick comes in a gorgeous black and metallic pink packaging. The lipstick tube is matte black in color and has a beautiful metallic pink cap. This cap shuts very securely making a click sound and ensures that the lipstick packaging is puree-friendly. The metallic pink packaging looks quite girly and attractive. The range name is printed with bright pink fonts on the black portion of the lipstick tube.

There is a color-coded sticker at the base of the tube, which bears the shade name and number. Since, the packaging is opaque, I store these lipsticks upside to down to easily spot the shade by checking the color-coded stickers. The lipstick has a normal twist-up mechanism, which works pretty smoothly. The lipstick has a regular bullet shape, which facilitates easy and smooth application. The lipstick bullet is quite firm and does not break or detach from the base. Overall, I love the packaging of these lipsticks.

“Mauve Petal” is a pretty mauve shade with strong purple undertones. This shade is flattering for fair to medium skin tones. The shade is beautiful and looks lovely on the lips. It looks so beautiful on the lips and brightens up dull face. The color looks too purple on the lips. The shade is unique and quite different from the usual mauve lip colors I own. I find this shade a little bright for everyday use. This color is great for evening parties and weddings. “Mauve Petal” does not contain any sheen or shimmer.

It sets to a soft velvety matte finish initially and later on it looks perfect matte on the lips. The formula is decently pigmented. One swipe gives semi-opaque coverage and covers the pigmentation of the lips up to some extent. I apply two-three swipes to impart perfect and even color to the lips. The color spreads evenly on the lips and never gets patchy. There is no significant smell in this lipstick.

The texture of the lipstick is amazing. Most of the matte lipsticks are drying or they crack after sometime but the formula of this lipstick is buttery smooth. It goes pretty smoothly on the lips without causing any dragging. The texture is so soft and buttery smooth. Since, it is a matte lip color, so it has the tendency to cling to the dry patches of the lips, which is seen in almost every matte lip color, so exfoliating and moisturizing prior to application is mandatory.

It is so lightweight and feels comfortable on the lips. It does not have a thick and waxy texture. The lipstick is very moisturizing and nourishing. It is a non-drying matte lipstick. This makes it a great choice for those who love matte lip colors but have a problem of dry lips. It keeps my lips hydrated all the time. It looks lovely on the lips and never gets patchy. The color stays at place and does not budge even after meals. It does not settle into the fine lines of the lips and looks smooth on the lips.

The lipstick lasts for approximately 6-7 hours on my lips with a little fading. It survives light meals but does not survive a heavy meals and it fades from the center of the lips. The lipstick is easy to remove and does not stain the lips.
