How are you all doing? I have always worn my hair straight and have never really tried to experiment with curls or waves. But nowadays, my hair is coming up with beachy waves and I am loving it! The moment my hair gets dry after shampooing, waves show up in my hair, which look super cute. To make the waves look better, I planned to try this new product from L’Oreal’s “Hollywood Waves” range. More on this hairstyling product in the review that follows 🙂
INR 700 for 150 ml.
Product Description by L’Oreal:
Recreate the red carpet look waves and curls that look defined, elastic, soft and shiny. An innovative elasto-cream texture offers elastic feeling curls with definition, while illuminating the look of hair’s natural shine. You can also revive and boost fallen curls by reapplying Siren Waves on dry hair.
My Experience with L’Oreal Professionnel Tecni Art Hollywood Waves Siren Waves:
Initially, I did not actually understand the usage of the product. From the description, I got really confused whether it will curl my hair without any tool or would it work as a curl reviver! Then finally, after a lot of research, I understand the right way to use it.
Packaging: The cream comes in a glossy black bottle. I love how they combined black with baby pink. It is heavy but can be carried along during travels. The pump nozzle is convenient to use. The nozzle also has a little cap which can be used to close the nozzle.
Consistency, smell and feel on the hair: The consistency is pretty thick, like hair butter, but it glides on very smoothly on my hair shaft. I have to be really careful because I have thin hair and the consistency of this product is really thick, which might make my hair greasy as it already did once when I used it in excess. I applied a little amount like a serum on shampooed hair and then blow dried it. My hair looked soft but a little dry. It did not detangle properly. It made my hair look voluminous and thicker than usual which I liked, but on the other hand, my hair wasn’t bouncy or wavy.
Results: It did a good job and lived up to its claims. After blow drying my hair, I curled them with my straightener. The curls looked really beautiful and actually looked glossy and shiny like a star. They stayed in place for like 3 hours and then gradually started to fall flat as I have naturally straight hair.
Then, I again applied a bit and then rolled them back and I got waves. The waves looked very beachy and messy which would look great for summers. But my hair got a bit sticky as I was applying it for the second time. I have to say it works as an average curling reviver and if you find something cheaper which you would want to use occasionally, then go for that!
Pros of L’Oreal Professionnel Tecni Art Hollywood Waves Siren Waves:

- Pump nozzle works better than any other style.
- The cream applies smoothly over my hair.
- Floral fragrance, makes my hair smell great.
- Makes my hair look thick and voluminous.
- Gives you the most perfect curls.
- Keeps the curls for 3 hours.
- Works as a curl reviver if they fall flat.
Cons of L’Oreal Professionnel Tecni Art Hollywood Waves Siren Waves:
- Makes hair a bit dry.
- Will weigh down thin and limp hair.
- Curls last for an average duration, does nothing extraordinary.
- They say you can revive the curls, but if you are at a party or some other event, it’s not possible to do so.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend L’Oreal Professionnel Tecni Art Hollywood Waves Siren Waves?
No, I wouldn’t repurchase as I wouldn’t use this reviver often, so a bit would go a long way. If you are looking for a good curl cream to keep your hair locked in those curls, then try this. It is an average product and works similar to any other hair curling cream/butter.
