My Experience with L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Pure Resource Shampoo:

First things first, this shampoo does remove the product build up. People were not wrong when they were raving about it. The shampoo comes in a sturdy packaging like the other variants in this range. The packaging is leakage proof unless the cap gets damaged due to mishandling of the bottle. It is a thick, gel-based shampoo which lathers well and cleans the scalp effectively. It lathers less on unclean hair and one might tend to take more shampoo than necessary. The second time you need only a small amount to generate a rich lather. It leaves my scalp feeling fresh and light if you know what I mean.

The smell is not overpowering at all, in fact, it has a very mild citrus-y scent to it. It fades off as soon as your hair is completely dry. I wish the smell stayed longer, but for that, one might need to layer with the same conditioner or hair mask, but I haven’t spotted anything apart from the shampoo in this variant. It mentions on the bottle that it is for people with normal to oily hair and although I have somewhat dry hair, I still love it. I just follow it up with a moisturizing conditioner or hair mask. I wouldn’t recommend this to girls with extremely dry and damaged hair. You might curse me if I said you can try! Although I have no such dandruff and itching problems, but whatever little issues I face occasionally, this one takes care of that completely.

L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Pure Resource Shampoo 4

This shampoo does make your hair appear smooth and manageable. It is a little moisturizing, but not the kinds that people with dry hair are looking for. When you are rinsing this shampoo out, you might feel that it is making your hair rough and dry, but wait till your hair is completely dry and then you will love it. I once tried using this shampoo without a conditioner, and it did deliver satisfactory results as in my hair was soft and manageable, but my hair was appearing somewhat frizzy. When I followed it up with a serum, it was all good again. So girls with extremely frizzy hair, remember to use the conditioner and serum like you always do. No skipping here! And yeah, it neither caused me hair fall nor stopped it. Overall, I really like this shampoo and use it once a week to clarify my scalp and remove the product build up if any.

Pros of L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Pure Resource Shampoo:

  • True to its claims!
  • The mild citrusy smell.
  • My hair feels really light and more manageable after using this shampoo.
  • A little goes a long way as you won’t use a clarifying shampoo all the time.
  • Sturdy packaging.
  • Inexpensive.

Cons of L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Pure Resource Shampoo:

  • Contains SLES and parabens.
  • Not travel friendly. I wish they came out with those 100 ml bottles so that it could be easier to travel with if needed plus one would have an option to try and see if the variants worked for them before purchasing the bigger bottles.

Final Verdict:

This shampoo really holds true to its claims, so if you have read the review, you would know if it would suit your hair type. Go for it if it does, but always remember hair care products work differently for everyone.

IMBB Rating:

4.2/5

P.S. No matter how hard I try to stay away from these SLS, SLES and paraben-loaded products, one or two such products always lure me to skip my rule. Does this happen to you?

    1. *thankyou* Parul. I dun particularly have an oily scalp but have used this on oiled hair. It did a decent job at cleaning my scalp. I guess it did not suit your hair really well. *haan ji* 🙂
