Last year around May, L’Oreal launched the Cannes L’or Lumiere collection and in that collection, were launched 5 beautiful pen eye liners in very gorgeous colors- Ultra Black, Deep Brown, Silver Mania, Glamor Gold, Turbo Turquoise and Blue Force. While 4 of them have already been reviewed on IMBB, I figured that the fifth one i.e. Glamor Gold was yet to be reviewed here. So here I am with the review of L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Gelmatic Pen in Glamor Gold. Read on to know how it fared for me.
An eyeliner that glides on seamlessly using micro gel pigments to ensure a smudge-proof look. Gel eyeliner is one of the hottest trends in makeup and Gel Matic’s convenient pen application is quick, precise and completely mess-proof. Innovative gel glide polymers and intense micro gel pigments create an intense colour pay-off that is smudge proof, gliding on for 12 hour wear. L’Oréal Paris introduces its first gel eye liner in a pen format.
Rs. 425/- for 3 gm.
My Experience with L’Oreal Super Liner Gelmatic Pen in Glamor Gold:
Packaging: I really like the packaging of L’Oreal Gelmatic liners (I own three shades of these liners). The packaging is black and gold and it looks very classy. The bottom of the pencil has a gold band that identifies the color of the eye liner. It is a retractable eye pencil. The cap closes tightly and securely, thereby making it travel friendly.
Shade: Glamor Gold is a true golden eye liner. It contains shimmer but the shimmer is fine and does not feel harsh. The gold really suits my skin tone and helps make my eyes look more awake. It is a great shade to be worn on its own as well as accompanied by a black/ brown eye liner. Since it is so smooth in texture, it can also be used as an eye shadow all over the lid.
Application, Texture, and Color Payoff: The texture of this eyeliner is super smooth and creamy and just one swipe deposits about 50% of the color. Though I don’t know why this eye liner is called “gelmatic pen” because it does not have a gel-like consistency. Since it is so smooth and has a decent pigmentation, even a swatch with light hand will give great results. The application is smooth and effortless.
The eyeliner is definitely smudge proof and because it contains gold shimmer, it is water proof too as the shimmer does not get washed off with water. I usually go with this liner 2-4 times on my eye lids depending upon how intense I want the liner to show up on my lids. Since I own two more shade from this same range, I can say that this shade has the worst pigmentation out of all other shades. The eye liner stays on me for almost 6+ hours without fading or smudging.
Pros of L’Oreal Super Liner Gelmatic Pen in Glamor Gold:
- Considering how exorbitantly priced L’Oreal products are these days, this eye liner is pretty affordable at INR 425.
- Easily available.
- Nice gold shade. Suitable for all skin tones.
- Does not feel harsh on the skin despite the shimmer content.
- Smooth and creamy in texture.
- Smudge proof.
- Water proof.
- Gives a smooth finish..
Cons of L’Oreal Super Liner Gelmatic Pen in Glamor Gold:
- Even though it claims to be gel-like in texture, this particular shade is not.
- Causes slight irritation when I wear it on my lower waterline.
- This particular shade is not as nicely pigmented as other shades.
- It is a very delicate eye pencil and might break if not handled with care.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend L’Oreal Super Liner Gelmatic Pen in Glamor Gold?
No, I wouldn’t repurchase because one of these is enough. I recommend it to people who don’t own a single gold eye pencil because a gold pencil is like a makeup essential.
It is a super smooth and creamy eye pencil with gold shimmer. Go buy this if you want to make a glam statement.
