Hi lovely ladies!!!
I guess by now all of you’ll know that Lotus has renamed their Purestay lipstick range to ‘Ecostay’. I had tried two of their shades when they were called Purestay lipsticks. I wasn’t quite impressed with them, so never thought of trying a lipstick from them even after they renamed it to Ecostay. But, now they have come up with some new shades, the names itself are quite interesting; so I couldn’t stop myself in picking them up. I’m so happy with my purchase, and I must say that along with the name even the formula of these lipsticks have changed to the better.
Lotus Herbals have come up with 9 new lipstick shades- Maroon Mash, Persian Pink, Coral crave, Spicy Red, My Melon, Coral Candy, Magenta Magic, Me ‘N’ Mauve and Orange Dream. And today I will be reviewing the shade Orange Dream that I picked up the instant I just heard the name.

Lip colour is a preservative free, natural, long lasting and hydrating lip colour. One swip and your lips are ready for a healthier shine all day long without any loss of moisture, ensuring a flawless finish. SPF 20 gives UV Protection.
How to use:
Outline your lips with the lipliner. Hold the tube of lipstick to your lips and carefully apply it within the lines you drew with your lipliner. Start from the center of your lips and brush the lipstick outward, filling in all the gaps. For a more precise application, use a lipstick brush. If you go outside the lines of your lipliner, wipe the excess lipstick away with a tissue. Look in the mirror to make sure that you’re filling in the lines correctly. Applying lipstick without a mirror can lead to silly consequences.
My Experience with Lotus Herbals Ecostay Lip Colour Orange Dream:
Lotus Herbals Ecostay Long Lasting Lip Colour comes in a pink cardboard packaging with the expiry date and claims pertaining to the product mentioned on it. It claims to be preservative free, but no ingredient list is mentioned on it to cross check. The outer box opens to reveal the lipstick that comes in a satin pink covering, which looks really cute. The lipstick by itself comes in a metallic pink slender packaging with a long cap that closes securely with a click mechanism. The overall packaging looks classy and is sturdy and travel friendly. The shade name is mentioned on the bottom of the lipstick tube, so you need to store the lipstick upside down to easily pick the shade in your makeup stash.
Orange Dream is a gorgeous orange lip color with reddish undertones to it. It has absolutely no shimmer or sheen. The reddish undertone makes it quite wearable for all skin toned beauties. The color sure is bright, but can be toned down by blotting with the help of a tissue paper. This is a perfect color for the coming summer. It brightens the face without looking over the top.
Texture of this lipstick has definitely improved from the previous Purestay lipsticks that I own. The texture of the lipstick is creamy and not hard like the Purestay lipsticks. Though there is slight initial tugging when applied, it goes away in subsequent applications. It isn’t a buttery creamy lipstick, so you need to thoroughly exfoliate your lips to let the lipstick glide easily without much pulling. The color settles to a matte finish within a few minutes and doesn’t bleed or transfer. Though my lips are quite dry at the moment, it didn’t dry them further or settle in the fine lines of the lips to make them look parched.
Pigmentation of this lipstick is good. One swipe gives good amount of color to the lips. But, you need to apply on a few more swipes to bring out the intensity of the color. The lipstick is very light weight and you don’t feel like you have applied anything on the lips.
The color lasted for a good 5-6 hours on my lips without drying them out. It survives meals, snacks and drinks with some fading from the middle of the lips, which can be retouched with a fresh coat of lipstick. It leaves an equally pretty stain behind, which can be easily removed.
One thing that really bothered me about the old Purestay range of lipsticks was their smell that was overpowering and headache inducing kind. But, thankfully this new Ecostay range doesn’t have that annoying smell that lingers for a long time, instead it is a soft powdery smell that fades away in a minute and doesn’t bother the sensitive nose.
It has plus points of being preservative free with added benefit of SPF 20 and being 100% vegetarian.
