Make Up For Ever recently released their new “high precision lip pencils” which are different from their regular line of “Aqua Lips” lip liners. I have 3 shades from this line and today, I will be sharing with you a review on shade #20.

My Experience with Make Up For Ever High Precision Lip Pencil #20:

Packaging: This lip liner comes in a sharpenable wooden pencil packaging. Over time, I have come to appreciate such pencils over retractable ones because I have had many liners dry out on me and you do not face that issue with pencils which sharpen out. On top, you can always be sure to get a sharp point when you need one. Use a good sharpener from a reputable company and you will find you won’t waste that much product. The tip of this pencil never breaks on me during sharpening.

Texture and Feel: These lip liners are truly the creamiest I have ever used. Very emollient and smooth and they almost feel like a creamy lipstick. They do not tug or skip at all and apply evenly over the lips. I find these to be quite forgiving even on my dry lips on days when I was a little lazier and skip the whole exfoliating preprocess. These sit extremely comfortable on my lips without making my lips feeling dry or parched and they do not emphasize lines or texture on my lips. I find any lipstick I apply over top applied smoothly, even liquid lipstick and the emollient nature of this lip liner creates a sort of thin moisture barrier between my lips and an overly drying lipstick.

Shade and Finish: There are only 8 shades available for this product right now. The shade #20 is a medium pink. This is a perfect everyday pink shade which brightens and lifts the complexion without being too bright or “in your face.” It is not a neon pink and leans to a neutral tone. This shade has a demi matte-slightly satin sheen on the lips.

Staying Power: Due to the creamy and emollient nature, I don’t find these to be as long wearing as my other lip liners (namely the MUFE Aqua lips range). They stay for 6 hours with some snacks and drinks before I notice fading and they almost disappear after full meal. Not the best lasting power on its own but does improve somewhat depending on what lipstick you have layered over it.

Overall, I absolutely adore these creamy lip liners and they have become my go-to lip liners. They might not have the best staying power, but for the way these sit comfortably on my dry lips, more than makeup for that for me.

I would recommend these only if you are okay with the fact that these are more like a creamy lipstick in a liner format than an actual budge-proof long wear lip liner.
