Maybelline Baby Lips – Cherry Me Review
Maybelline Baby Lips have been selling like hot cakes in the beauty world for quite some time. “Cherry Me” and “Grape Vine” are supposed to be the most pigmented ones out of the 6 available shades in US. I picked “Cherry Me” as I am not a great fan of plum shade.
Product Description:
Why You’ll Love It. No more basic lip balm. The secret: Exclusive lip renew formula. Protects and moisturizes for a full 8 hours. After 1 week*, lips are visibly renewed, virtually reborn. 6 varieties. Based on panelists’ self-evaluation.
Price:
$3.99 , INR 200 approximately.
My Experience with Maybelline Baby Lips – Cherry Me:
Once I started using this lip balm, I did see a reason for its popularity among the beauty circle. The shade Cherry Me has red tint. The color pay-off is decent enough to show on my pigmented lips and to brighten up the face a little bit when there is no other makeup.
The packing is very practical with a long transparent printed cap. The fun orange color tube makes it look like some cheap teen makeup product, but I can’t deny how easy it is to carry in the purse 🙂 The texture of the lip balm is very thin and feels very light on lips. The color doesn’t bleed out of lips even if I apply multiple layers. That makes it easy to use while on the go. For such a thin textured lip balm, I doubt the SPF 20 claim that some websites are making. I did not see any mention about the SPF 20 on the official Maybelline website.
I have read some people complain about the way it smells, but for me, the smell is mild and it doesn’t bother me at all. It doesn’t have any taste to it. Another claim to doubt is their “8 hours” moisturizing claim! It stays on my lips and moisturizes for 8 hours if I don’t eat or drink anything, but just after having a drink, I feel the need to re-apply it.
Pros of Maybelline Baby Lips – Cherry Me:
- Pretty red tint.
- Reasonable price.
- Supposed to have SPF 20 (definitely a pro if the claim is true).
- Feels very light on lips and gives some shine.
- Continuous use prevents lips from chapping and cracking.
- Has a mild smell and no taste.
Cons of Maybelline Baby Lips – Cherry Me:
I do not feel there’s anything I dislike about this product.
Final Word:
It has all qualities a good tinted lip balm needs. If you haven’t tried one yet, you should probably give it a shot now. I am planning to get the non-tinted version to wear under my lipstick.

lovely shade.. nice review *clap* *clap*
I have this very one and like it quite a bit. I just don’t get what the MASSIVE hype about it is though. I mean I think labello or nivea lipbalms are equally good- if not better.
