REVIEW: Maybelline Colorama Nail Polishes
I have been wanting to do this post since a long and I finally gave up being lazy and wrote this up.
I shall be reviewing 2 shades of the Colorama Nail Polishes today and they are:
Coral Chic and Sexy.
I came up with this cause I couldn’t make up mind about which shade I wanted to wear and hence thought of wearing both together 😛
The shades complement each other and hence this came out really well 🙂 I painted my nail alternately with each shade and I must say, I totally loved the way my hands lookded. They remind me of sweet candy 🙂
This is how they look:
The shade on my thumb and middle finger is called Coral Chic and the shade on my Index and Ring Fingers is called Sexy.
Both the paints are different in terms of consistency and opaqueness and I’ll take you through both their pros and cons.
COLORAMA CORAL CHIC
This shade is a favorite of mine out of the two and it is not only because of the shade. The Coral Chic nail polish is semi transparent when applied on the nails and in the above image, I have applied 3 coats of it. It os extremely sheer and looks very pretty.
It has tiny Golden flecks in it, which are so tiny that you cannot really feel them. These golden flecks aren’t granular and hence application of the polish is very simple and convenient.
Consistency-wise, this polish is a bit “elasticky”, as in it doesn’t spread easily but that doesn’t really hamper the application process.
This polish does not chip easily and is pretty long stay. They stay on for 3-4 days without chipping i.e. Even if I take up household chores.
Another positive about this shade is that it doesn’t lose it’s sheen or color over time. It looks as new on the fourth day as it does on the first 🙂
It costed me a mere Rs.95/- and I must say that it is worth every dime!
PROs of Maybelline Colorama Nail Polish Coral Chic
- Long Stay
- Very pretty and a feminine shade
- The golden flecks makes it look festive
- Fast drying on the nails
- Pretty inexpensive at Rs.95/-
CONs of Maybelline Colorama Nail Polish Coral Chic
- Very sheer and hence it needs multiple coatings
This shade looks, feels and applies very differently from the previous one. Consistency-wise, Sexy is creamier and applies easily like any other creamy, matte nail polish. The color pay-off is awesome and in the above pic, I applied the polish with only 1 coat. It is really paque and the color looks really pretty on the hands 🙂
Due to this creamy consistency, the nail polish peels off easily. Do note that it doesn’t chip-off but actually peels off!!! And when there is a peeling action, it means that it peels off from a large section of the nails at one time.
Another feature of this product that is not a favorite of mine is that it tends to lose it’s sheen from the second day on.
Let me list out it’s PROs and CONs
PROs of Maybelline Colorama Nail Polish Sexy
- Dries up fast on the nails
- The color is really pretty
- Creamy texture and hence doesn’t require multiple coatings for total coverage
- Inexpensive at Rs.95/-
CONs of Maybelline Colorama Nail Polish Sexy
- Peels off easily
- The polish fades off the initial sheen very soon
Even with the CONs, I am honestly in love with both of them and love the way they make my hands look bright and pretty 🙂
