If you know me, you know about my love for colored eyeliners – especially blue and purple.  I have used Maybelline Master Drama eyeliners before and they have a great staying power, so I picked this up without thinking twice 🙂 I am pretty sure that half of my makeup drawer is filled with colored eyeliners and for some reason, I always want the next thing that comes in the market. Do you have any obsession for a particular product or is it just me?

My Take on Maybelline Master Drama Chromatics Eyeliner – Plum Persuasion:

This liner comes in six shades: Plum Persuasion, Mighty Magenta, Sapphire Sensation, Blast of Blue, Turn on the Teal and Silver Spice. They all looked so beautifully vibrant in the store that I had to stop myself from picking more. By just looking at them, I figured they were brighter dupes for the Urban Decay liners.  The quantity feels really less though as they are sharpen-able pencils. This one is super soft to apply, softer than the last master drama. The color payoff is extremely gorgeous and it just glides on the lids. So even older ladies can wear them without it sinking in their fine lines.

I have a feeling it has some silicon content because of the way it glides. You need to blend it really quick or it sets within seconds and then will not budge. I rubbed my hand so hard on the swatch and it did not move even lightly – IMPRESSED! On my oily upper lids, it stayed for more than 5 hours. When I applied a primer underneath, it stayed on a lot more. On the waterline though, it smudged a bit, but then stayed for a pretty long time. It also acts as an excellent base when you want a sexy smokey smoldering look.

Use it with a cream eye shadow and it is a great daytime wear.  Use it with darker plums on a little black dress for a night time glam look. Maybelline is really upping up its ante with its releases this year and this one just might be its master piece! I have nothing but good things to say about it.  Just recently, it launched here and it’s already flying off the shelves. Although the name is a bit misleading, it’s totally not plum – more like neon purple. Also, unlike other drugstore liners, it does not squish or break easily leading to wastage. Yeah, sharpening is a bit of a let down but you get a sharper line every time! Bright eyes may not be every woman’s cup of tea, but this purple shade might be an easier middle ground!

Summing up:

Pros of Maybelline Master Drama Chromatics Eyeliner – Plum Persuasion:

• Lovely shades.
• Extremely pigmented.
• The slightly silicone texture helps in easy application.
• Better than a lot of high end liners.
• Stays for long.
• No smell or fragrance.
• The outer casing that houses the eyeliner is soft and does not prick the eye in case of blunt tips.
• One can get very close to the lash line for easier application.

Cons of Maybelline Master Drama Chromatics Eyeliner – Plum Persuasion:

• I thought it was a tad pricey for a drugstore brand.
• They should come up with more browns and taupes – maybe a gold too, I’d buy all of them!

Verdict:

I will happily give it a rating of 4/5 because I actually thought it was a dupe of the Urban Decay liners.  Its staying power is fabulous and will suit beauties of all ages because it won’t give raggedy lines or settle in the creases. Definitely try this babe!
