This perfume was a gift from my sister who does not know me at all. 😉 I love perfumes but I prefer warm and unique fragrance. Floral fragrances are not really my cup of tea, hence this Narciso Rodriguez for her Eau de Parfum is not ideal for me, but if you’re into feminine, floral fragrances, you might not want to miss this one.
$124 for 100 ml.
Essence is a sensual and luminous fragrance with a modern heart of musk. Enhanced by radiant notes of rose petals, iris, and hints of amber, the result is a pure fragrance of soft florals and powdered musk.
Musk, Iris Powder, Rose Petals, Benzoin Balm.
Sensual. Warm. Pure.
My Experience with Narciso Rodriguez for her Eau de Parfum:
This is my very first perfume review, but I will try my best to explain this one as much as I can. The packaging of this perfume is quintessentially feminine and sweet. It’s very basic and simple, just like the fragrance. Narciso Rodriguez must experiment a little more with their packaging since almost every perfume in their collection has the same packaging, just the color is different. This glass bottle is easy to hold and spray. Very strangely, there is no product information on the packaging. The spray works fine and dispenses sufficient product in one go, but it catches fingerprints like crazy. The sweet pink bottle looks so sweet and pretty, but then, I do not understand why the spray is black in color. Could not it have been pink like the rest of the bottle? This is quite strange, to be honest.
This perfume is a delight for the lovers of rose-based fragrances. The initial spray highlights a beautiful rose fragrance which soon turns musky. These two notes appear very prominent to me throughout the wear time. The fragrance is very subtle, very mild and very clean. You clearly start off with these notes and then these two notes turn a bit mellow after around 4 hours, making way for slight sandalwood notes. Even though the fragrance is super mild, it still lingers and turns completely powdery by the 7th hour. The good part, again for rose lovers, is that the rosey notes keep lingering throughout the wear time.
Since the fragrance is mild and subtle, I was not expecting a high staying power. And, to be honest, this staying power is not bad. If sprayed on clothes, the fragrance stays for around 8-9 hours maximum. On my skin, it lasts 6-7 hours, which is not bad. It keeps lingering every now and then, hence sillage is definitely above average.
Verdict: This is the kind of fragrance most women would love. It is quite simple and sweet. It is a no-fuss and no-nonsense fragrance that’s apt for even formal occasions. It is musky yet fresh but not one of the unique fragrances. The brand claims that the fragrance is “Sensual. Warm. Pure.” but I do not completely agree. This is a personal choice but I would not really call this a sensual fragrance. It might be pure and it does turn a bit warm with time, but it is not one of those sensual or attention-grabbing fragrances. Again, do give this one a try if you like subtle and rose-based perfumes but stay away if you like unique or sexy perfumes.
I am not a floral fragrances lover and I hated it when I first sniffed it. My sister asked me to give it some time and I did. Eventually, I started liking how it settles on my skin. It stays floral but musky too. It is sweet but warm too. It is indeed a beautiful fragrance that’s hard to forget. This perfume smells like Estée Lauder Modern Muse EDP too, to some extent but this one is a lot subtle and simpler.

No. Because I am not a fan of floral fragrances. Yes, I would recommend to try it but only if you love rose-based and musky fragrances.
