NARS Barbara Audacious Lipstick Review

Hello people,

Recently, I bought four shades from the NARS Audacious Lipstick range – two of which have already been reviewed on IMBB, Grace and Anita. One of the shades which I bought and which completely surprised me was Barbara. I was a little apprehensive of buying this one as there were no proper references of how this shade would fare on Indian skin tones.  In the end, I went ahead with my beauty instinct and placed the order for this gem. So here, I proudly bring to you NARS Audacious Lipstick in the shade “Barbara.”

Tips:

Apply Audacious Lipstick directly to the center of the mouth blending outward for full, creamy coverage of high impact color. For a more controlled application, apply using the Precision Lip Brush #30. Packaging:

The lipstick is a hit beginning from the packaging itself. These lipsticks are housed in rectangular, black metallic cases with magnetic closures. They have NARS etched on them in glossy finish against a matte case. The black cardboard box further ups the amp and adds to its glamour. Each lipstick bullet is stamped with the NARS logo. The metallic closure is so much fun to play with. I totally love the packaging.

My Experience with NARS Barbara Audacious Lipstick:

Color:  As soon as I learnt that I had an opportunity to get stuff from the US, my research began. The 40 shades in the “Audacious” range only made my task harder but fun nonetheless. Barbara was one shade which had me intrigued from the very beginning, but I was skeptical about it.  I knew that this lipstick would either wash me out or become my favourite n*ude lippy. I cannot tell you how happy I am that it turned out to be the latter. Barbara is described as a “tan rose.” On my lips, it came out as a beautiful peachy n*de. All I can say is I have found my perfect n*de lipstick.

Texture:

The lipstick is creamy and soft. It glides smoothly on the lips. The formula is very pleasant to wear. It does not dry the lips, but is neither moisturising. It does not feel heavy on the lips. It does not bleed nor does it settle into fine lines. It transfers initially. This lipstick has a satiny finish. Please excuse the patchy lips (I have been experiencing extremely dry and chapped lips this winter).

Pigmentation:

This is where these lipsticks strike it out of the park. They are insanely pigmented. One swipe is all you need but you can definitely layer it on. Though Barbara is a n*de colour, it goes opaque in a single swipe.

Staying Power:

The staying power is around 4+ hours on me, even with slight drinking and eating. This is pretty good considering all my other n*des and MLBB shades disappear within 3 hours.

• Glides smoothly on the lips, does not tug or pull.

• Lasts 4-5 hours.

• Expensive.
• Transfers initially.
• Availability in India.

Yes, definitely. This lipstick is the perfect n*de for me. There are many more beautiful shades in the range. You should definitely try at least one 🙂
