Body skin type: dry and prone to flakiness

European winters can be tough for your body skin and then your body just needs a very intensive moisturization. When it comes to winters, Nivea holds a very special place in all Indian households for everyone. So, when I saw Nivea in a drugstore all the way from home, I just picked it up. Read on to know how it fared out for me.

My Experience with Nivea 48H Intensive Moisturising Care Rich Nourishing Body Lotion:
Packaging:
The product comes in a blue hard plastic bottle with a flip cap. There are two variations of the 400 ml: one comes with a flip cap and one comes with a pump dispenser. I found the flip cap variant at the drugstore. There’s also a smaller 250 mL bottle which is useful for trial purposes or traveling.
The 400mL is a bit heavy and not suitable for travel, so I would recommend purchasing the 250mL bottle for traveling. The flip cap securely locks onto its place and so far, I haven’t noticed any leakage of product. The bottle also contains instructions on how to use the product. Overall, the packaging is a very standard Nivea ‘blue’ one and it’s functional with no problems.
Consistency, Moisturization and Lasting Power:
The consistency of the product is thick and it is opaque white in colour, but it is easy to work it through your body. It blends very easily and you need 2-4 coin-sized amounts to cover your entire body. It feels like a very heavy moisturization product when you dispense it. There’s the typical Nivea fragrance in this product, it is not overpowering.
Now, coming to the moisturization of this product. It is just incredible; the product sinks into your skin and you don’t feel any oily residue on your skin. The skin looks plump, hydrated and supple after using this product. It looks like a very heavy product but it doesn’t feel heavy on your skin and the moisturization power is very strong. It works very well for my very dry body skin.
The effect of the body lotion on the skin stays until the next shower. So, if you don’t take a shower in 48 hours, the hydration and moisturization indeed last. So, the 48-hour claim is not dubious but true. With regular use, you can see that your skin is healthier and hydrated, and eventually, you don’t need to use the product daily but 2-3 times a week. This product also works for the summers here but I am not sure if this will be fitting for Indian summers.
Overall:
I am very happy with this body lotion, it has been designed for very dry skin and it works very well even in snowy winters. The moisturization penetrates your skin. I have no complaints about it except that it is not available in India yet.
