Eid Mubarak to all!! How’s your weekend coming along?? I feel like lazying around and read a book with my cup of hot chocolate. Today, I will be reviewing a peel off mask from Nivea’s Daily Essentials range. I had bought a couple of these from H&M in Stockholm and they had more, but since I love peel offs, I picked them up instantly. Read on to know more about this product.
Nivea Refining Peel-Off Mask visibly smoothes skin’s texture to reveal a younger looking, fresher complexion. The special formula with Hydramin gently removes dull skin cells and deeply cleanses the skin. It actively removes excess sebum to reduce and prevent shine for hours. The skin is gently exfoliated, feels clear and appears visibly more refines and mattifies.
The result: Thoroughly purified and left your skin feeling soft and smooth, instantly refreshed and left your skin looks even and radiant again. For normal to oily skin types, not recommended for dry and sensitive skin. Skin compatibility dermatologically approved.
Price: 2-3 Euros (I guess, I forgot the exact price, but it was somewhere in this range).
My Experience with Nivea Daily Essentials Refining Peel Off Mask:
So, starting off with the packaging, the mask comes in a sachet form and the sachet has two packs of 5 ml each for two applications, I can use it 4 times. I love masks such as these which come in sachets, they are the best companions to travel with..:-P :-P. There are many brands that offer masks only in sachet forms like Montagne Jeunesse, Nivea, Purederm, etc.
This mask has a gel-like texture but is very runny in consistency (as you can see in the swatch), but that makes it very easy to spread evenly on the face in a thin layer. The gel has a light bluish tint to it, and looks clear when applied on the face. When you start applying the mask, you can smell a fresh aquatic floral fragrance which then turns into menthol-type fragrance and by the time you are done with the application, you can smell toothpaste on your face.
The mask takes about 10 minutes to dry up completely, but I leave it on for like 15 minutes for better results. The first time I applied it, I was bit in a hurry, so I applied it unevenly and had to take it off in 5 minutes, it did not show any result and I was quite disappointed. But the next time, I washed my face and then applied it properly and when I peeled it off after 15 minutes, it had imparted a nice subtle glow on my face. Also, it strips off all the excess oil from face and mattifies it, this is just perfect for this humid weather, but the results are not long lasting and skin starts to look dull within 2 hours or so.
I think this is like any other ordinary peel-off mask which provides temporary results and does not do anything extraordinary.
Pros of Nivea Daily Essentials Refining Peel Off Mask:
- Nice travel-friendly packaging.
- Consistency is right for application.
- Gives a nice subtle glow.
- Mattifies skin.
- Gives a nice clean effect.
Cons of Nivea Daily Essentials Refining Peel Off Mask:
- Although it starts off with a good smell, it ends up smelling like a toothpaste.
- Effects are not long lasting.
- Takes time to dry up.
- Since the consistency is quite runny, the packet needs to be sealed properly after use.
