I have recently seen a lot of people raving about the “Not Your Mother’s” brand on the internet. Some like it, some do not but the catchy, unusual name definitely caught my eye. So then, I decided to give this a try since I am ALL about volumizing hair products!
Product Description: She’s A Tease will have the whole crowd gossiping about your huge head err I mean hair. Infused with natural apple blossom and bamboo, this salon formula will have you and your hair walking tall.
My take on Not Your Mother’s ‘She’s a Tease’ Volumizing Hairspray:
The ‘Not Your Mother’s” Volumizing Hair Spray comes in a white aerosol can with a clear cap. It is a 8 oz bottle which is the regular size of any hair spray. It is also infused with Apple Blossom and Bamboo.
I have been trying this volumizing spray for almost a month now and have spent half that time in figuring out how to make it work for myself. The packaging states to apply it at hair roots, but I was not sure whether to apply it to my dry hair or on wet hair. So I went ahead and tried both ways.
When I applied it onto my dry hair, it gave my hair a slight hardness. My hair looked volumized at the roots at first but then I realized that it actually created tangles at the roots which really pissed me off. While I was highly disappointed I decided not give up so soon. Next I tried it on my wet hair and felt entirely stupid thinking why I did not do this before hehe. It definitely gave me better results and I was not entirely disappointed. I got amazing amount of volume when I blow dried my hair and was very satisfied about the way my hair looked. Now, I did give this a try by just applying it to my wet roots and let it air dry. I did see my roots a little bit lifted but I got better results with blow drying. The results last for a whole day so I do not have any problem with that. One thing that does bother me though is the scent. It is very strong and just irritates my nose. I was never really sensitive to smells but lately I have been and this one messes with my nose like no other. Anyways, aside from that it is a decent product and the price of it makes it even better.
Pros of Not Your Mother’s ‘She’s a Tease’ Volumizing Hairspray:
-Has Cute Packaging.
-Volumizes hair when applied to wet hair.
-Staying power is good.
-Infused with bamboo and apple blossom.
Cons of Not Your Mother’s ‘She’s a Tease’ Volumizing Hairspray:
-Tangles up when applied in dry hair.
-Doesn’t really work when applied in dry hair.
-Has a a very strong scent.
Do I recommend? If you blow dry your hair on a regular basis then using this product will give you good results. On the other hand, for ladies like me, who like to let their hair air dry (most of the times) this one is not worth it. I am sure there are better volumizing sprays out there.
Would I repurchase? To be honest, no I won’t. I’d rather spend my money on trying out other products.
