I have always been impressed with NYX products and I never miss an opportunity to pick up another product from them. Also, I am always watching out who’s coming from the US so that I can ask them to fetch me these goodies. One of my colleagues was visiting New York and I grabbed this opportunity to hoard some NYX stuff under IMBB’s sponsored product scheme. I am so glad and grateful to the IMBB team. So, today’s review will be on NYX Smart Lip Pencil in the shade “Pumpkin.”

This lip pencil comes wrapped in a plastic covering. The body of the pencil is black in color and the cap is black too. The bottom part of the pencil is color coded and represents the shade. The number of the pencil and its name is written on the body.

Slim, trim, but never prim our lip pencils come in a variety of dashing shades – from auburn to orange and traffic-stopping red. The buttery long-wearing lip liner formula goes on easily and resists bleeding.
My Experience with NYX #852 Pumpkin Lip Liner:
“Pumpkin” is so true to its name and it’s a very pretty rusty orange shade. NYX smart pencils are wooden pencils that will need sharpening to get that precise tip. These lip pencils do need sharpening frequently, like after every 2-3 usages.
I always prefer such pencils even though it means a lot of wastage due to sharpening as I prefer sharp lines which are not possible with twist-up ones.These lip pencils are very creamy and soft in texture and the application is very smooth. They glide like butter on your lips and that is probably the major reason why the tip goes blunt soon.
I did not experience any tugging or pulling during application. The finish is creamy matte. It’s not moisturizing enough and would need a lip balm beneath when used as a base for any lipstick. It looks a bit dry if used on its own, so I always use this one beneath the lipstick.
The pigmentation is very good and one can intensify the color with multiple applications. It is light on the lips and layering won’t feel much heavy. This shade if used on its own as a lip color will accentuate dry patches and will need exfoliated lips.
The staying power is for around 4-5 hours, after which, it fades away and leaves an outline on the lips. Also, it does not seem to bleed outside the lip line.
It is definitely not waterproof, but you will require a makeup remover to get it off completely. I totally love these pencils!

- Availability in India (although NYX products are available here in India too, I find them overly priced and always out of stock).
