This is the first NYX Nude Matte shadow that I have bought as a part of my Ulta haul, and it’s the first shade that I have chosen to write about. Read further to know about this product.

My Take on NYX Birthday Suit Nude Matte Shadow:
Packaging: I love the packaging. It is smaller than my MAC mono eye shadows; product comes in a nice little shiny black case. A clear window shows the product and has NYX Nude Matte Eye shadow printed in black lettering. On the back, an ingredients sticker with the name of the color is also present. These shadows are quite small but the outer packaging is wider/taller than my Urban Decay single eye shadows.
Texture: It is a powder-compact eyeshadow set in a circular aluminum pan and has a very smooth texture, and it’s easy to apply. It has a matte finish with a surprisingly negligible fall out; however, it is not that easy to pick up on a brush and makes dry application a bit more tedious.
Color: It’s a soft lilac color but has more of cool pink undertones, and it’s not something I would wear often.
Pigmentation: Pigmentation is not that good, but most dry eye shadows can’t be worn without a good eye primer any way. I gently swiped my fingertips on the shadow a few times to pick up some product for the swatches and was delighted to see that it had minimal fallout. It is a dry/wet shadow and can be used either way, but it gives a better wear time if applied with a damp brush and a primer underneath.
Application: I used it on my lids but mostly for highlighting purposes – under the brow, in the corner of the eyes and so on, but I would dare not wear it alone or it might just make me look clownish.
Staying Power: 8 to 9 hours and maybe more, but I removed it after that, but it did stay put during the entire duration. One can increase the wear time with a primer or white eyeshadow underneath.
This is a very good product for the money paid – even though I am not a big fan of this particular shade. I bought 4 shadows from this range and all of them are unique shades. I prefer palettes since they occupy less space, but the colors were so irresistible that I had to try out these shadows.

- Stays on for decent amount of time.
- Shades are good and cover the entire spectrum.
- Affordable and one can acquire all the shades for minimal prize.
Cons of NYX Birthday Suit Nude Matte Shadow:
- Not available in India yet.
- Less quantity.
- Pigmentation is not that good.
Would I Repurchase NYX Birthday Suit Nude Matte Shadow?
No, because it will last me big time, but I am planning to buy all the colors from this range since they perform so well and are so easy on my pocket. This range from NYX is worth a try.
