My Experience with NYX Butter Lipbalm – Brownie

Lately I have become a Lip balm Hoarder. Whenever I see one in the market I can resist picking them up. And with the weather here in the US being the worst it has been in decades with temperatures below freezing all the time, it does not harm one to keep a stash of lip balm everywhere. My chapped dry lips sure do thank me for it.NYX has recently come up with a whole line of “Butter” products. It includes butter lip glosses, butter lipsticks now butter lip balms too.

NYX describes the color “brownie as a Natural brown/beige. Though it does have some brown undertones it also tends to look a little pinkish under different lights. This shade matches my lip shade perfectly hence I can consider it a MLBB shade for me as well as most Indian girls. NYX does have various shades ranging from bright pinks to reds under this lipbalm range but I would consider brownie to be the most versatile shade which can look excellent on its own but also great when used under lipsticks as this shade will not clash with another color that you put on top.

The color payoff is sheer but it does get deeper with the amounts of coats that you put on. This texture of this lip balm is very different from others I have used. This tends to go on very smoothly on the lips and it feels like it coats the lips with a layer of hydration. While most lip balms tend to make your lips feel slippery when rubbed together the Nyx butter lip balm has a very minimal slippery feel to it and it does not provide as much shine as other lip balms tend to do. It does provide a sheen on the lips when it catches the light but without it, it does look very natural on the lips without a very glossy appearance.

The scent of this lip balm is very fruity with a little bit of vanilla too. A very pleasing scent which is not at all overpowering and hardly detectable when the product is on the lips. My lips feel very moisturizing after using this. It healed my chapped lips and also prevented them from getting anymore chapped. I love the fact that the color of the packaging is the true reflection of the shade of the balm hence very easy to differentiate which one you want if you happen to have multiple shades of this.

The staying power of this is very good. It does tend to stay on the lips for a long time and will even survive through minimal snacking. It also transfers minimally hence more product tends to be on your lips rather than on your drinking glass. Even when the product wears off lips still feel very moisturized for a long time. It does not leave any tint on the lips when it wears off.

Overall an amazing product. Will definitely recommend. And will also repurchase. I am also eyeing other items from the NYX butter range. So maybe will be having a NYX haul in the near future.
