On 8th October, 2010 I placed my NYX order at cherryculture.com This was my first experience with online shopping. SO I was a little skeptical. I decided to fix my budget to around $ 20 + shipping. There were a few thing that I wanted to try from NYX, mainly lip products.
I have receive my order today – 18th October, 2010 and I had selected the regular shipping option.
My experience with Cherry Culture :
- They are an amazingly user friendly website. You can shop by brand, price,sets etc.
- There are loads of brands to choose from such as NYX, Milani, Eyeko, LA Colours, Beauty Blender etc.
- On your choose your product, it keeps getting added to your bag. You can always add or remove your products from the shopping bag.
- Payment is easy and you can easily pay by credit card. Once your shopping is done, you can create your account at cherry culture and then pay.
- They deal very professionally. The bill processing takes 2-3 days. After 3 days I got this e bill from cherry culture. (click to enlarge)
- All the products (except a lip pencil) have reached in perfect condition. Every thing is brand new.
- You would face a lot of problem selecting the shades. The swatches that cherry culture has displayed on website are pretty crappy.
- They have regular sales or discounts going on all year round.
- Shipping is very fast. I was prepared not to receive my order at all. 😛
I had a great shopping experience with cherry culture and I would shop from them again. 🙂

NYX Megashine Lip Gloss in Sweet Heart : It’s a peachy pink gloss with silver shimmer.

And that’s the sad part of the shopping. 🙁 I got this NYX long Lip Pencil in Nutemeg. The cap was stuck. 🙁 I had to put it in warm water to melt the glue and in the process the tip broke and pencil kinda melted. 🙁 I have put it in fridge, I hope it sharpens well.

yeah the only thing is that you don’t get to see the colours that well. The swatches on cherry culture are pretty bad. They give no clue about the colour. All guess work. :((

You could check out youtube or just google for swatches. NYX is so popular that there are swatches for almost every single shade they have. It’s still not very accurate, but it’s a closer match than the cherrycuture swatches.
I’d ordered from them last month too. But I was greedy and quite impatient too. So I ordered for almost $45. Fortunately for me, everything came in perfect condition.
Oh, next time you order, do check out the jordana blushes. They have some nice shades. I got two of them, and I’m already in love with both.
I agree Pooja. The swatches on cherry culture are pretty rubbish and they give you no idea about the exact colours. 🙁 I had to check for swatches online but still I feel mostly you have to take a chance.

I think it’s best to create a Paypal account. Its super easy and makes life really easy. And it’s a one time jhamela. Everytime you order online after that, all you need is your email id and password. Payment done.
yeah, I do use paypal account as well at times. 🙂 It’s actually easier. Also, you can claim a refund if you don’t get your stuff. 🙂

Using your credit card for online shopping is something that a lot of people are hesitant about. I tried convincing my dad for ages to let me use his credit card for online shopping. He wouldn’t budge. This was before I knew about Paypal. Then I made my dad go through the entire Paypal details and he was quite satisfied and he finally let me order online.
Paypal uses encryption to hide your card details from the merchant. So, no matter which site you order from, your card details will never be known to them. Also, Paypal lets you register your visa and mastercard debit cards. So, if you’re like me and don’t like using your credit cards, this is a great option. It helps me stop shopping when I see my account balance depleting.

well online shopping has always attracted me! but shipping charges are too much! i mean that lip pencil is 75 online n india for 250 but your also charged shipping! so hmm is not much of saving or is it??????????????? just a question! ?:-)
Actually, even with shipping it costs less. Especially if you order in bulk, like I did ( I ordered 15 items), the shipping came to 30% of the item price, which is still cheap. I ordered worth $37 and the shipping was $12. So, the NYX eye shadow singles (with shipping) cost me Rs. 200. The same thing cost Rs. 475 in India.
If you buy a lot of things, the shipping is quite negligible. Another option is Shopcraze.com. They too have NYX items (not everything though) and their shipping is cheaper.

lol. I got so excited seeing the NYX counter the first time, I almost bought some of their products at that ridiculous price. Thankfully for me, I was with mom and I wasn’t carrying my bag. And my mom absolutely refused to pay for it.
After that, I found out about CC and I was so happy I didn’t buy anything that time. Saved like half of my money.
And Rati, you should also check out strawberrynet.com and acmamall.com. They have the higher end brands like Benefit, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, YSL, MAC, Smashbox and lots more. Best thing about these sites is that Shipping is free worldwide. And the prices are pretty good too. I haven’t bought anything from there yet, but my friend did from strawberrynet.com and she had no issues. Also, if you’re not satisfied with your items, you can return it and they’ll reimburse you the money for shipping. Also, if you’re charged custom duty (Do they do that in India?), they’ll reimburse that too.

I really like NYX cosmetics and their eyeshadows are great. They are not too easy to find even here in US and I also ordered from Cherry culture. Maybe next time you can try their Runway collection 10 color pallete….I have it in Catwalk and it’s pretty good.

I have a very bad experience with Cherry Culture. I ordered 2 times.
At first the parcel went bck for unknown reason n I was in loss even though thy gave me a gift card of $9.
Second time it ws told my parcel must be held up at custom. I did not get any feedback for second time.
Hence I left out ordering from Cherry Culture.
i ordered from cherryculture.com and even though they have deducted the amount from my account they have still put my order on review from the last 10 days and are now asking for the last four didgits and the front and back copy of my card
