NYX High Definition Blush – Crimson Review

Hello gorgeous ladies,
NYX is on a roll with new product launches which started at the beginning of this year. When I had access to these gorgeous products, I did some major damage to my wallet and purchased several of these new items. Right from the awesome pastel liquid liners to the prismatic eye shadows and the all in one palettes, I had to try all of them. Today I’d like to share with you my thoughts on the new High Definition (HD) Blush.

My Experience with NYX High Definition Blush – Crimson:

Packaging: NYX HD Blushes come in a slim and sleek black compact with a cute ribbon closure which is the signature NYX bow clasp. They blush weighs 0.16 oz in size. I think that the amount of product you get is quite generous for the price. All in all, I love NYX’s new packaging!

Colour: The shade Crimson is like a bright cherry red with orange undertones. This is a matte blush, but if seen in person there is a teeny tiny bit of sparse glitter in it. I know it sounds scary and is not visible in the swatches, but that’ because it’s barely noticeable and it pretty much disappears after blending.

Pigmentation: These babies are crazy pigmented, so much so that the pigmentation can be an issue for a blush! This blush is intensely pigmented and you’re going to need a very light hand during application, even if your skin tone is deep. But still I feel like no matter how lightly applied, I end up having clown cheeks. I feel I am going to have to use the rest of the blush as an eye shadow!

Texture: The texture of these blushes is super powdery. NYX calls this blush “silky” but it isn’t quite silky to me! It is sure powdery, but not dry nor chalky. And since these are so powdery, it tends to pick up a lot of product in the brush and end up being so pigmented on the cheeks.

Longevity: Also, the staying power is extremely impressive. The wear is incredible at around 8 hours without fading. I can easily get a full day’s wear from the shade, even on my oily skin.

Quality: Overall, I would say these blushes have excellent price, super duper pigmentation, excellent staying power, but the texture of these blushes is quite powdery in my opinion. They are extremely powdery during application, though not powdery looking on the skin. So I am iffy about this blush, but I think I can make it work.

Pros of NYX High Definition Blush – Crimson:

• Awesome packaging with pretty bow details.
• The colour pay-off is a mixture of cherry red and a hint of orange.
• Highly pigmented.
• Super long-lasting.
• Contains fine shimmer, which is not visible on the skin.
• Smooth application.
• A little goes a long way.
• Affordable.
• Long shelf life.
• Easily available online and in drugstores.

Cons of NYX High Definition Blush – Crimson:

• Needs a light hand while application or I end up with clown cheeks.
• Uncertain availability in India.

IMBB Rating: 4.5/5 (I never thought I will deduct any points for extra pigmentation!!)

Will I Recommend/Repurchase NYX High Definition Blush – Crimson?
Although the NYX HD Blushes are cheap, super pigmented, and long wearing, I’m just not terribly impressed with them. The formula just didn’t really do it for me! If you can grab some on sale you might want to check them out but personally I think there are a lot of other budget blushes around that perform better. It’s up to you to decide ladies.
