NYX Powder Blush in Terra Cotta Review
Hey!
I wasn’t able to write any reviews since the past few days since I was down with a cold and an ear infection, caused due to swimming. I love swimming, it’s my favourite activity, but I always end up getting some infection or the other 🙁 Anyhoo, now that I am feeling better, I will bounce back to my usual routine of reviews, and so today I bring you the NYX Powder Blush in Terra Cotta.

Price:
$5.99 for 0.14oz. or 4 gm.
Ingredients:
Magnesium Stearate, Talc, Mica, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Octyl Palmitate, Isopropyl Myristate, Silica, Lanoline Oil, Squalane, BHA, Propylparaben, Iron Oxide.
Packaging:
It comes in a little square compact box, with a clear top, which seems very prone to breakage and will not be able to survive a fall. So the packaging doesn’t seem very travel-friendly to me. The cap clicks shut though, so that’s good.It doesn’t have a mirror or brush, but I am okay with it as long as they don’t skimp on product quality.
My Take on NYX Powder Blush in Terra Cotta:
This was an impulse buy as I was looking to buy something to evade shipping charges 😛 but I ended up loving this a lot because of the quality of the blush. It’s very decently pigmented and gives a nice color to the cheeks on a single swipe. You can build up the color more if you want to, but you might want to be careful as it is quite pigmented. It has a satiny/silky feel to it, and I love the quilted design of the blush, it seems like it helps my brush pick up more product this way. If you see closely, it seems that it has slight shimmer, but it definitely does not show on your face when you apply it, and looks completely matte. On me, it does not stay on for as much as I would like, but it does stay around 4 hours, then I notice it has faded away.
As for the shade, it is a warm bronze shade with some hint of peachy brown tone, which is very flattering for Indian skin tones if you want to go for something other than pink. If someone wants to use it as a bronzer, they can use it that way too, so it is a multi-purpose shade! You can see that I have used it quite a bit, and it’s because I love it! It’s not over the top, and looks great when I want subtle color on my cheeks. I generally wear it during the day time. Also, since it is a powder, it helps with controlling oil on skin, and might make dry skin drier. Overall, I think it’s a very nice blush, and you could try out some of the shades.
Pros of NYX Powder Blush in Terra Cotta:
- Affordable for the quantity offered.
- Satiny/silky finish which feels easy on the skin.
- Pigmentation is very good.
- This particular shade would suit Indian skin tones beautifully.
- Quilted texture makes for easier application.
- Can double up as a bronzer too.
- Controls shine on the face for a long time.
Cons of NYX Powder Blush in Terra Cotta:
- Packaging is a bit flimsy and prone to breakage.
- Doesn’t stay for too long on me.
Overall, I like this very much and keep turning to it all the time, especially for everyday wear. I want to try the other shades once this gets finished (which will take ages).
