Today, I am back with a review on the NYX lingerie liquid lipstick in the shade “Teddy.” This range is fairly new and has a range of shades that are perfect for all skin tones. As a dark skinned girl, I struggle to find a n*de lipstick shade as most n*de lipsticks tend to look ashy on me. This range has got that covered though! There are 12 lipsticks in total, which include a range of different coloured n*des including browns, pink and even red. This range is therefore one that is versatile and complements everyone. My Take on NYX Teddy Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick:
I am thoroughly impressed with this liquid lipstick! This particular shade is a lovely unique shade, in the tube and in my hand swatch, it appears to be a mid brown with a pink undertone to it. However, on my lips, it looks different and appears slightly darker and grey. As it is pretty much the exact same colour as my lips, it does sometimes make me a look a little washed out if I apply this on its own so I like to apply a lip liner underneath. My favourite lip liner that I use is the Collection Lip Liner in the shade “Damson.” I like to line my lips and then completely fill them in, after which, I add the liquid lipstick on top.
The applicator is a standard doe-foot applicator, but it is quite narrow in length, which means that it is perfect to create precise and clean edges and get into the corners of your lips. As for the smell, unfortunately, it isn’t the most pleasant scent as it smells quite fake, but it isn’t too overpowering, which is great. This liquid lipstick doesn’t feel drying at all, it glides onto the lips effortlessly and feels creamy, but dries down completely to a matte finish. It can sometimes feel a little sticky on the lips but nothing major.
I find that when applied on its own, without a lip liner, it lasts for a good couple of hours. It does wear off a bit after eating or drinking, but most of the lipstick remains on the lips. I’ve also found that the colour slightly changes a bit on my lips after several hours, but nothing too noticeable. When a lip liner is applied underneath, this liquid lipstick literally doesn’t budge! I’ve found that it lasts all night on my lips and stays in place, there is only a slight fade of colour, but it is really unnoticeable. It also hardly smudges- a pet peeve of mine is lipstick smearing all over my face after I eat, but this doesn’t happen. Since the formula is so creamy, it can get on the teeth before it dries down, so remember that! However, the lipstick dries down to matte finish very quickly, which is great.
