Organic Surge Citrus Mint Shower Gel Review

A long tiring day or a really sleepy morning … a luxurious bath is always enticing. 🙂 There are times when you need something floral to fluff your feminine feathers, while sometimes you need earthy fragrances to relax. And then there are times, when you just need a fresh kick start, that would zing your senses to life. Shower Gels, are the quick Aroma Therapy fixes that can really brighten up your day!

Today I will be writing a review of the Organic Surge Citrus Mint Shower Gel. I had really high expectations from this one, so let’s see how this one fared for me. 🙂

Price: INR 535 for 250 ml.

What the brand claims:

Citrus Mint Shower Gel blends purifying and stimulating organic essential oils with natural moisturisers to refresh and invigorate, while natural skin healer aloe Vera works to soothe any skin irritation or blemishes. For All Skin Types.

How to use it:

Apply to damp skin in the shower, with hands or a shower sponge. Lather well and breathe in the organic essential oil fragrance blend. Rinse away and start your day with a smile. 🙂

My Experience with the Organic Surge Citrus Mint Shower Gel:

I love trying out new fragrances in shower gels. At any time, I have at least 3-4 variants which I use according to my mood. Little indulgences in life sigh! 🙂 🙂 When I came across this citrus mint variant, naturally I was intrigued and I HAD to have it! (It’s a sickness really). 😛 😛
I was really excited to try this product out. I had imagined myself getting all zinged up and into action, especially since the cool weather puts me in hibernation mode. 😛

First impressions, this product comes in a huge sturdy tube in pale green color…an echo of the mint and lime theme. The packaging is nice and classy (though I had a hellish time capturing the silver writing on camera for this review. 😛 )

The product has a runny gel consistency, so I end up using much more than required. 🙁 Even after being SLS free, this lathers really well. 😛 It’s an awesome shower gel, just lap it on a loofah and indulge your senses!:)

I looove the fresh fragrance of this Shower Gel. The fragrance of this Shower Gel is more pepperminty than citrusy. Actually I can hardly detect any lime. It immediately awakens the senses and gives a cooling sensation on the skin. This Shower Gel has a really natural fresh fragrance, which I just totally relish! Thank God that, unlike chemically perfumed shower gels, it does not have that acrid pungency. I really think that those with sensitive noses will also enjoy it. Even more so, I feel it’s a unisex fragrance and so can be used by the entire family.

The fragrance of this shower gel unfortunately does not last long on the skin. But since really, the aim is to impart the minty fresh feeling, which it successfully does, I have no complaints. 🙂 🙂

This shower gel does not dry skin out, but skipping a moisturizer all together is not advisable. I would not recommend it to dry skinned ladies though, as it is definitely lacking in that extra lushness.

I like the fact that it is 95% organic and does not have harsh SLS, Parabens etc. Really, you don’t want those blacklisted chemicals in a daily use product. So that’s great! That’s why I feel that, if it is not drastically improving my skin…It is at least not spoiling it further. 😀

I cannot vouch for its ‘blemish removal’ claim though. That one seems a bit farfetched.

So Summing up the Pros and Cons:

Pros of the Organic Surge Citrus Mint Shower Gel:

• Lovely minty lemon fragrance that is not artificial.
• Does not dry skin out.
• Suitable for all skin types.
• Free of harsh chemicals.

Cons of the Organic Surge Citrus Mint Shower Gel:

• The fragrance does not last long.
• Anti Blemish claim seems a bit far fetched.
• On the pricier side. (but then its organic, so no complaints there)

Would I recommend Organic Surge Citrus Mint Shower Gel?

Those of you who enjoy fresh summery mint, should definitely go for it .Don’t expect an out of the world experience though.
