I very recently posted a review on my favourite flat iron spray that has gone to become my HG hair straightening spray. Today, I’m reviewing another hair product that for sure took me some getting used to. We didn’t start off at the right foot and had our own little tiffs. It was about a month after us trying to work things out that I began understanding how to make this product work for my hair. Here’s my review of the very popular Oscar Blandi Pronto Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo.
About Oscar Blandi Pronto Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo :
No time to shampoo? No problem! Clear the way for the newest innovation in dry shampoo. Pronto Dry Shampoo Invisible sprays on clear, which means it’s completely undetectable in the hair and is ideal for all hair colour. When applied, it instantly boosts volume and cleanses the hair without water. Ingredients such as gentle starches absorb excess oil and product build-up, while vitamin E and wheat proteins strengthen and protect the hair shaft. The end result: hair that looks and feels freshly shampooed, without a trace of residue.
How it works
Hold can 6-8″ away from head and spray product onto scalp and hair, especially at roots. Allow to dry before using fingers to shake out excess product. Brush out thoroughly. Style hair as desired.
My experience with Oscar Blandi Pronto Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo
After having heard and read a gazillion reviews on dry shampoo, I was sure that there wasn’t a dry shampoo in this world that didn’t leave behind a whitish residue on brown/black hair so in my head, I was prepared for that. I sprayed this dry shampoo on my 3rd day hair just like the instructions asked me to. I sprayed a very little amount and I didn’t feel it made any difference whatsoever to my hair. I was disappointed because this is not a cheap product by any means but I was determined to make it work. So I went back and sprayed a real good amount, concentrating on my roots, let it dry, shook off the excess (there wasn’t any) and brushed out my hair thoroughly and voila, this time the dry shampoo had worked. It did soak up all the oil in my hair and did not leave any residue. My hair could go another day without a wash. Now it does not make the hair clean, it only soaks up the oil so its not really a shampoo in the real sense of the word but it did what it was supposed to. I’m not sure whether it did anything to volumize my hair though but that maybe because I straighten my hair a lot. It has a strong lemongrassy scent that does stay.
On the whole, this is a fairly good product but there is a trick to using it and that is to use a little more than you think you need. I know this is an expensive product and like me, you would want to use as little as possible to make it last, but it won’t work that way. It will make your hair last another day without a wash but by the end of the day you would want to wash your hair. It didn’t do anything in the volumizing department for me but it might on thicker hair. It didn’t irritate my scalp but after about 3-4 hours, if I run my fingers through my hair, I could feel some residue.
Pros of Oscar Blandi Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo
• Soaks up excess oil and leaves hair looking clean
• Smells good but the strong lemongrass scent might be a concern for some, not for me
• Nice packaging with all the information one might need about the product
• Quickfix for oily 2nd /3rd day hair
• Doesn’t leave a white residue
• Sprays clear
• Easy to use
Cons of Oscar Blandi Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo
• Didn’t volumize my hair
• You need more than a couple of little sprays
Buy it if you don’t like washing your hair every single day of the week. Its a quickfix for oily hair and will make your hair go another day without shampooing. Leaves no residue and you might get complimented on how good your hair smells. You have to really go at it and spray a good amount or the product will not work.
Price : Rs 1,800 for 142 g
Would I buy Oscar Blandi Pronto Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo again?
I’m on the fence about it. I would like to try other dry shampoos before I buy this again.
