Today, I am going to review something I bought after contemplating a lot, and that is my Philips Satinelle Epilator HP6421/00. From my higher secondary onwards I had been planning to get an epilator. But, I was not sure for the price seemed too much to me at that time and I was not at all sure whether I will be using the product. 😛 So, now after two years, I researched and thought it is better for me to buy a basic one. And, when the time to buy one came, I preferred this one as it has a sensitive cap. Luckily, it was a good decision and you’ll find out why in the review! 🙂
Enjoy long lasting smoothness with Philips Satinelle epilator. Gently removes hair, as short as 0.5mm, from the root. For hair free skin up to four weeks. Includes 1 accessory and a small cleaning brush.
Sensitive area cap for bikini line and underarms
Sensitive area cap for bikini line and underarms Specifically adapted for more sensitive skin. The cap covers the outer epilator discs, for a more gentle epilation in sensitive areas.
I bought this online for INR 1852, which was the lowest price online in January, this year.
Now, it is available for INR 1400-1600. But, if you check Philips website, you could see that its MRP is INR 2650. Such a big difference for the same product!!
The box includes an epilator, a long cord, a sensitive area cap and a cleaning brush. Plus, a booklet on how to use the epilator and a 2 years warranty card.
The other key specifications are:-
• Washable Epilation Head
• Gentle Tweezing Discs
• Dual Speed Setting
• Ergonomic Grip
• Remove Hairs as Short as 0.5 mm.
My Experience with Philips Satinelle Epilator HP6421/00:
Coming to my experience, the first time I turned ON the epilator, I OFF-ed it in less than a minute due to the pain. Not only there was redness on my arm, the noise was simply scary and annoying, plus the PAIN! OMG! That was unbearable. If you are someone who is used to waxing, you might be able to bear the pain somewhat.
After many such daring acts, the good news is that I still continue using this. However, I am less hesitant now. Though, at times, I have felt like going back to shaving and have contemplated getting a lady shaver rather than an epilator. But, for arms and underarms, trust me, this is the best! No more itchy feeling of tiny hair. And, I am somewhat getting used to the pain that epilation of arms and underarm area brings. 🙂 Success! I hope that slowly the same happens to my other parts too which would be a victory for me! 😀 The way how I epilate my arms may surprise you. Hint : it’s full of screams!
The good thing about epilation is that skin remains hair free for a longer period of time as compared to shaving. It takes out even the tiniest hair, which sometimes even razor or wax can’t catch. So, over a period of time, it makes skin softer and smoother as you cannot feel those prickly tiny hair. One thing, please don’t try without the sensitive cap on! I tried once for my underarms and it was only after that that I realised that it has been provided for a purpose. 😛 (genius ME)
Pros of Philips Satinelle Epilator HP6421/00:
• Removes hair efficiently
• Can be used on legs, arms, underarms and bikini area
• Keeps skin hair free for longer duration than other methods
• Two speed options are available
• Long cord makes usage easy
• Sensitive area cap for bikini line and underarms
• Comes with a cleaning brush
Cons of Philips Satinelle Epilator HP6421/00:
• Pain! (But remember no pain, no gain)
• You need to find an electric plug as this is not a rechargeable gadget
• The epilator gets heated up if you use it for a long time. So, you need to give a pause
• Chances of ingrown hair become higher when you epilate 🙁
• If you ditch your epilator for a while and then come back to it, it gifts you the irritation and redness all over again!
It all depends on you. If you have been waxing all these time and(or) are used to the pain, you’ll love its efficacy. If you are not ready for the pain, skip it. It’s a good product, no doubt.
Hope to see you ladies soon with another review.
Till then, bye! Stay pretty!! 🙂
