My Experience with Revlon Colorburst Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey:
It’s all too well known that Revlon does a marvelous job with its lip products. In the drugstore department, Revlon is one of the best brands available. Having tried its Super Lustrous lipsticks before, I was all too excited to try out these balm stains about which I had heard so much. When I went to the store, I was overwhelmed and excited by the look and feel of these glossy balm stains and also by the matte balms. But because at the time when I picked this one up, the matte balms were relatively new, I decided to go with this tried and tested product.
Revlon Colorstay Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey is an absolute delight to use! I have been using this product for the last 4-5 months and it’s one of my most loved lip products for a bunch of reasons. I love the colour, the texture, the feel, the fragrance, the lasting power and the packaging of this balm stain. I will take you through all of these.
Colour: In the tube, this shade Honey looks like a very light, cool-toned pink that is unlikely to suit most Indian skin tones, but that’s actually very deceptive because this shade is nothing like that! Honey is a warm, mauve-pink shade that is very flattering on a variety of skin tones. I love this colour! It’s unique, versatile and extremely wearable.
Texture and Feel: This chubby lip crayon applies with a sheer, glossy finish with a hint of colour at first. It feels extremely comfortable on the lips. Right after you apply it, the colour will not seem to show up with full strength. But within an hour or so of application, the glossy sheen will wear off, leaving behind a strong hint of colour (which can of course be built up as much as you like with multiple swipes), that will last for hours on end. The only thing with this balm stain is that because it is long lasting, it will start to feel a little dry on the lips (nothing over the top) after a few hours. You can always apply a lip balm then or reapply this very product to renew the sheen and balmy feel on the lips.
Fragrance: Revlon Colorstay Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey has a very mild and pleasant mint fragrance. It’s not the kind that will be bothersome to most people. The fragrance lends it an interesting kind of freshness. However, the fragrance will fade away soon after application. So those of you who don’t like the minty fragrance, needn’t worry about it too much.
Staying Power: Wow! This part of the product is really commendable. As I have mentioned, the glossy sheen of the balm stain will wear off some time after application, but stain part of it—the opacity of the colour – will last for hours and hours and will definitely survive meals. It’s truly a balm stain. However, this is the kind of product that will come off without much trouble when removed with an oil-based makeup remover. So, it’s not difficult to remove if you choose to remove it.
Packaging: The packaging of this product is very cute. The colour on the stick corresponds with the colour of the lip product, making it easy to pick out of your makeup bag. It is a retractable lip crayon, which makes it easy to apply. Since you don’t need to sharpen it, you don’t end up wasting any product.
Overall, this product is quite the winner for me!
Pros of Revlon Colorburst Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey:
- Beautiful, flattering and versatile mauve-pink colour.
- Very wearable shade.
- Easy to apply.
- Feels nourishing on the lips.
- Mild, pleasant mint fragrance (which fades soon after application).
- Retractable lip crayon, no wastage of product.
- Attractive and convenient packaging.
- Colour stays on the lips for hours and hours and easily survives a couple of meals.
Cons of Revlon Colorburst Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey:
- Because it’s a long-lasting product, it can feel a little drying on the lips after a couple of lips. But nothing that a lip balm or the reapplication of this very product can’t fix!
My Verdict on Revlon Colorburst Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey:
I think that this product (and the shade Honey in particular) is a must-have! I love using it all the time. I reach for it so often! Highly recommend it!
