Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color Cherry Fast, Pumped up Pink, Expresso Review

Hello all,

I have always been impressed by the quality of Sally Hansen nail polishes. And I picked up quite a few shades from this brand over the last few weeks. Today I am reviewing 3 shades from the Insta-Dri range; these shades are Cherry Fast, Pumped up Pink and Expresso. So, read on to find out how they fared on me.

Sally Hansen Insta Dry Nail Color

Price:
$4.99. Prices may vary from store to store.

Product Description:
Nail color covers in just one coat, brilliantly. The Perfectionist Brush™ contours to any nail, so color always glides on precisely, quickly, flawlessly. And, the exclusive Flexiglass Complex combines beautiful, brilliant shine and super-strong wear. So simple, so Sally.

My Experience with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color Cherry Fast, Pumped up Pink, Expresso:

Packaging:
The Insta-Dri range comes in stylish triangular shaped glass bottles. I like how handy these bottles feel in the hand compared to some other bottles (like the bulky Sally Hansen Miracle Gel bottles). The bottle itself feels quite sturdy.

This range comes with a flat brush which I absolutely love. It makes the application very easy, precise and mess-free. I wonder why Sally Hansen doesn’t make this kind of a brush a standard in all its nail polishes.

Consistency / Color Pay-Off:
All the shades that I am reviewing today have a slightly thick consistency. But they do spread easily and go very smoothly on the nails. In fact, the texture combined with the flat brush makes for one of the most hassle-free application of nail polishes that I have come across.

All the colors that I am reviewing today have pretty strong pigmentation and cover the nails in a single swipe. I love nail polishes that go opaque in a single swipe as it, in general, leads to faster drying time and lesser mess.

Drying Power:
Now, with a name like Insta-Dri, it is expected that the nail polish will dry fast. And, it does dry in less than a minute.

Staying Power:
I was not overtly impressed by the staying power of this range. It stays put for around 3 days or so. But starts to fade around the edges by the 4th day.

Now, for some detailed review of each of the colors:

1. Cherry Fast

Cherry Fast

Cherry Fast is a classic magenta shade. Though it does look more leaning towards purple in certain lights. This is a shade which will suit Indian skin tones and will look good with traditional wear. The finish is a glossy crème.

2. Pumped Up Pink

Pumped Up pink

Pumped Up Pink is a lovely shade of pink with shimmer. The shimmer particles are very fine and not at all gritty. Though I had liked this nail polish in the bottle, I did not like it so much on my nails. It made my hands look darker than they are. And also, I personally feel that kind of shiny pink will suit girls more younger than me.

3. Expresso

Expresso

Expresso is a gorgeous maroon red. It is one of those shades which will look good on anyone irrespective of the age, skin tone, season or occasion. It is not a very unique shade, but nevertheless it is lovely. The finish is a glossy crème.

Pros of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color Cherry Fast, Pumped up Pink, Expresso:

• Dries very fast
• Nice variety of colors
• Glossy finish
• Very good consistency of polish – applies well
• Single coat is needed to achieve opacity
• Does not stain nails
• Quite affordable

Cons of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color Cherry Fast, Pumped up Pink, Expresso:

• Staying power is average

IMBB Rating:
