Sephora Collection Nectarine Rouge Gel Lip Liner Review

Lip texture: Dry normal texture, mild pigmentation
Hello beautiful women,
Hope all of you are doing fine. I am here today to share my views on another lip liner from Sephora which was part of my mini haul last month. So far I like these creamy yet light-weight liners which also work fine when worn alone considering their medium to buildable coverage and creamy glossy sheen; however today’s product is an exception. So, let’s read more about Sephora Collection Nectarine Rouge Gel Lip Liner.

What it is: A retractable lip liner with a long-lasting, gel-cream texture to enhance the lip contour.
What it does: This first-to-market creamy gel lip liner is softer than a traditional liner. It is formulated with a gel-cream finish for an enhanced, smooth look without dullness. The unique, soft texture of the non-drying formula glides over every curve with ease to create a fuller look and a color-matched base for lipsticks. The liner also comes with a built-in sharpener for easy application anywhere.

My Experience with Sephora Collection Cashmere Pink Rouge Gel Lip Liner:

The liner comes in color coordinated retractable pen packaging with built-in sharpener much to my liking. I find it pretty user-friendly and travel-friendly product and packaging over all.

Coming over the shade “Nectarine”, it is described as matte coral shade which is true to its description as it imparts semi-matte coral color pay off to my lips with hint of orange hue. I find it perfect for every skin tone considering its bright summery finish; however it is not as pigmented as other shades in the range. Especially after trying “Cashmere Pink” & “It’s Cherry” shades I feel Nectarine is way too sheer and tricky for pigmented lips. It may provide buildable coverage in multiple swipes though but then either way we will layer it on with respective lipstick or lip colors hence no complaints. It seems true liner in that sense but unlike the creamy pigmented liners I tried from this range.

Now this might sound as blessing for people who expect true matte finish from lip liners like I personally feel there should be clear cut difference in a liner and lip color as I expect edgy defined finish from an ideal lip liner. I also feel that the texture of Nectarine is bit stiff and partly creamy unlike other shades which remind me of Nars Velvet Lip Liner; though Nars feels extremely soft and slippery while nectarine seems bit tugging on lips. I won’t mind mild tugging on lips as long as it does not accentuate or aggravate any issues. So far I haven’t come across any major concerns in this regard hence I am fine with few disappointments here and there. It does seem bit stiff and waxy while sliding on lips but then it stays comfortable on lips for several hours thereby increasing the longevity of my lip product as well.

I see that it does not have forgiving formula considering partly creamy matte finish and the fact that it may cling to dry patches initially but we can resolve it with well scrubbing and moisturizing session prior to using this product. Anyway, it stays put for good 5-6 hours thereby enhance the longevity of lip products which make it a keeper for every beauty including beauties with dry lips or pigmented lips. I would definitely recommend it to everyone and personally I might get it again.
