  1. Hi Neha,

If your hair fall is so severe, you should first consult a physician urgently to check out for any hormonal imbalance. If you have switched to any new hair product or diet recently, change tracks. Read the review of Mintop on our blog here ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Yes Mintop seems to work for some people. But use it ONLY after consulting with dermatologists. It is risky to use it like a cosmetic product, because its a strong solution with side effects as well.

      1. Hi Shruthi,

Parita has mentioned that point in the review itself, that’s why I asked Neha to look up the review….thanks for the input ๐Ÿ™‚

        1. thanks dear jomol and shruti for the suggestions but i cant use mintop as once my doctor advise not to use it when u are pregnant or feeding..or even planning…

  2. Ya sudden hair fall or bald patch needs medical attention. Go to a good qualified dermatologist STAT. Avoid tying hair your very tight. Change your hair parting often, else the follicles at the part are lost over time, giving you a permanent hair parting.

  3. Hi Neha,
women usually have this problem in the crown area of head, first n foremost visit a dermatologist! its extremely important that you get your condition checked with a doc first, doc will then suggest few things like lotion n capsule..also do not tie a tight pony tail or pony since this will add further pressure on the roots n roots will loosen up
i ve been using mintop for quite a few yrs n it works well, also cantharidine hair oil is really really good but you have to use either of the two for 3 to 4 months to see proper results.
apart from this get your hormones n hameoglobin levels checked, start taking multi vitamins, calcium etc since our body really does require it even though we have good food…drink loads of water n make sure you dont have dandruff in your hair.
include lots of nuts in your diet like walnut, almonds etc since they really help in increasing faster growth of hair
    hope this helps ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. hi parita.. i just read your review, it says that you used both mintop and cantharidine hair oil. i want to know if it is not risky to use them both at a time?

  4. Hi Neha,
I have been a silent reader of IMBB for quite sometime,Your post made me to write first time here as I myself was suffering with the same problem jst a few months back… I did a few things that stopped the hair loss totally..
1.I used ginger juice on my scalp twice a week (It might hv a greying effect but applying jst a few times wont matter much I think)
2.I started taking Hot Oil massage every day before going to bed (Mixture of Coconut Oil & Almond Oil with Evion Capsule (Vit-E) )
    3. I went for a climate change for few days & I only use water from Aquaguard/Aquasure with an Iron Filter to wash my hair.

These things helped me a lot & saved me a visit to the doc. If it dsnt help u thn plss go for jomol’s suggestion asap…

  5. visit a dermatologist dear.. it might be due to many reasons like iron deficiency, hormonal issues and other deficiencies we never know. Don’t take any supplements without consulting ur doctor.. ๐Ÿ™‚ i had severe hair fall recently and tried all sorts of shampoos and conditioners. When i visited a doctor i got to know that i was suffering from iron deficiency. Now i take supplements and have healthy hair.

  6. go see a dermatologist/gp first.he/she will then diagnose the exact cause of ur hair loss & suggest proper treatment.i am saying this because self treatment may cause u more harm.

    1. thanks mayuri. taking too much stress and tension is one of the main cause of my this condition but cant help sometimes ๐Ÿ˜

  7. Hi Neha.. Do visit a dermatologist .. besides that apply castor oil on the patch everyday ..just on the patch.. but daily… This should help. There are no side effects so no harm in trying it.

  8. Hi Neha

i have the same problem, the thing is i lost so much hair it looks as if im balding ๐Ÿ™ :(……….. my scalp is clearly visible ๐Ÿ™ i was experiencing a lot of hair fall, after lots of research on the internet i thought to give essential oils a try..

What i do is twice a week when oiling my hair at night i add 3 drops of rosemary essential oil to 1 tablespoon oil and apply to my scalp and wash it off the next morning. i have been doing this since the last 2 weeks and i must say my hairfall had significantly reduced :)…. this is a safe remedy to try and also rosemary smells good and gives a nice tingling feeling when applied. I am sure you will benefit from this ๐Ÿ™‚

    take care

        1. a very good point ife… please avoid if you are pregnant. yes you can mix it in your regular oil (any carrier oil like coconut, almond, jojoba etc.. i use it in a mix of castor and jojoba oil)

          1. you can mix this and store provided its a dark glass bottle so that the essential oil does not loose its efficacy… i prefer mixing it freshly every time i apply

  9. Being a student of dermatology i think i can add some thing here..

Well, if it’s a total bald patch it may be alopecia areata. Its an autoimmune ds and usually resolves by itself. But since the period vaires, I would like you to consult a derma and use Minoxidil lotion (2%) 1 ml once daily. Please avoid 5% and be careful that it doesn’t drip down to you face.
Alopecia areata may also need to call for topical steroid application.
Get a Routine blood check up done. Does anyone from your family or even distant relatives have/had this?

If it is a diffuse hair loss.. test routine blood and TSH levels mainly. Check if your periods are regular and you don’t suffer from PCOD. Or, if you having any medicine at regular basis.

You can go for iron+biotin , multivitamin supplements . Include fresh green vegetables, proteins and frsh fruits in your diet. Drink lods of water.

Normal hair fall is upto 100/day. Don’t over stress yourself! tc

    1. PCOD won’t cause premature greying but a problem with thyroid or pitutary may be responsible. If not genetic, these may be the reasons. Please see if you are including vit B12 in your diet. Otherwise honestly, there is no much of medical treatment to premature greying ๐Ÿ™
