Simple is a brand known for sensitive skin care. So, when I saw their face wash at the drugstore, I picked it up. This moisturizing facial wash is soap-free, so I decided to include this in my skincare regime for my combination skin. Let’s see how this product performs.
Our Moisturizing Facial Wash leaves your skin thoroughly cleansed and nourished, plus it’s a perfect blend of our purest possible skin loving ingredients with added vitamins.
Price: $4.79 for 150 mL
My Experience with Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash:
The product comes in a standard green and white coloured tube. It is opaque, so you cannot see how much product is left. There is a green flip-cap to dispense the product. The packaging claims that the product is soap-free, perfume free and colour-free. This is the only size available for this product and it is medium-sized. It can be called travel-friendly but smaller variations would have been nicer.
Just a word of caution: this product contains SLS in a considerable amount as it is the second ingredient in the ingredient list. It also contains parabens. So, if you have sensitive skin which reacts badly to SLS and parabens, just skip this face wash.
Consistency and Cleansing Power:
The consistency of the product is moderately runny and it feels sticky to touch. It looks translucent white in colour. Since, there is SLS in the product as a surfactant, you need a pea-sized amount to clean your entire face.
The product lathers up well and cleans away the facial sebum and impurities in one go. I also use it for double cleansing to remove my makeup and it works okay. However, it is quite dry for a moisturizing face wash. It didn’t break me out either.
I expected my skin to get oilier by using this face wash regularly, but it didn’t happen as the product is not overly-moisturizing. It isn’t overly-drying either, it’s somewhere in between and that is unexpected for a face wash which claims to be moisturising. There’s no scent in the product, so that’s a bonus for people with allergies or olfactory sensitivity.
I have used this product for months as a cleanser and for me, it works like a standard face wash. It cleans and it doesn’t break me out. But, personally, I prefer something more and nurturing for my combination skin. It was a good surprise that a moisturizing face wash worked well as a standard cleanser for my combination skin. But, at the end of the day, we always have various expectations from a face wash and it’s the same case with me.
Overall, this moisturizing face wash works well as a standard cleanser for my combination skin without breaking it out or making it oily. But, for me, this is not enough and I am simply looking for something more with my skincare products. This product will work good for people with sensitive skin.
Pros of Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash:
A little product goes a long way, the tube will last for a long time.
It is a good and effective cleanser.
Doesn’t cause skin to produce more sebum.
Doesn’t break me out.
Doesn’t over-dry my skin.
Cons of Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash:
Contains SLS and parabens, can be problematic for people with really sensitive skin.
Isn’t moisturizing enough for a moisturizing face wash.
Doesn’t do anything great for my skin, just works well as a cleanser.
IMBB Rating: 3.5/5
